I don't know about all of the changes they've made to their normal summer schedules, but we've been looking at northern european cruises with them so I can comment on that.

They have added quite a few cruises that do only UK, Ireland, and Norway, and have added a 7 night scandinavian cruise that does not include Russia. Is it because of safety concerns? Is it because the olympics are in London that summer? Not sure. Probably both to some extent. And I imagine they are trying to lure Londoners who want to get out of town during the Olympics.

We love the new itineraries. I hope DCL announces something soon because I'm tempted to book one of these itineraries.

Celebrity released their 2012 European cruises yesterday and they have some fabulous itineraries. Some very nice Eastern Med/ Greek Isle routes. We did book yesterday because the cabin category we wanted is limited... there are only 4 on the ship and they book up fast. We can always cancel if we find something better on DCL or RCCL.

It has what we've been looking for... a variety of Greek islands for me and Venice for my DH. :goodvibes

This summer we're sailing with Celebrity from England to Russia and back (with several ports in between) on a 2-wk cruise with 2 nights docked in St. Petersburg. If Princess is doing a 7-night Scandanavia without Russia, it's probubbly due to time constraints. So many ports, so little time! BTW, the fruit tarts on Princess cruises are fabulous. 8^)

Italy is fascinating. I would love to see Pompei again (closest port is Naples.)

The May 30 Silhouette cruise I put on hold ends in Civitavecchia on June 12th - so maybe we'll see you there!

I really like Princess, and I'll be on the Emerald's 16-night Transatlantic cruise at the end of April. Too bad I can't stay on the ship for the following 11-night Baltic cruise!

Princess has 7-night cruises from the UK that go only to Norway in 2011, in addition to their longer Baltic cruises that go to St. Petersburg. It's not a safety issue, but one of time and distance that keeps the 7-night cruises that depart from the UK from going to Russia. However, Royal Caribbean has a number of 7-night cruises that go to St. P in 2011, but they depart from Scandinavian ports.

I was on a Princess British Isles cruise last summer with my two daughters, and at one time I also booked the following 12-night cruise to Norway! However, I decided to save a Norway cruise for a future trip.
