You definitely need to try out for AI! We had a lot of not so great talent when we went to watch so you don't want all of those people wishing they had a great singer when you didn't try out! Plus who does downtime on a Disney vacation

Thanks for the vote of confidence! When I saw AI in June the talent was amazing! I'd just like to get in a show and see what the stage is like and how it sounds. My coworker's 16 yr old daughter did it in Jan and she got into the finale. She had a blast. So I definately think it would be an experience. If I get over this cold and sing OK at church the next two weekends, then I am going for it!

You all know I love a bargain and I found a good one this morning that I had to share....

I think most of you know that last Sept Dale and I took our first "mom and dad only" trip.

Our first night there we met friends, who have relocated to Florida, for dinner at the House of Blues at DTD. We enjoyed our meal as the food was really good and so was the service. Well this morning I got a code for restaurant.com (for those of you unfamiliar with the site it sells restaurant gift certificates at deeply discounted prices. some restrictions apply) When I visited the site they had the House of Blues at DTD! Using the code "MEAL" I got a 25$ gift certificate for 2$ To use the certificate we have to spend 35$ (which will not be a problem) So this will be a really cheap extra meal for our trip! The certificates are good for 1 year from date of purchase so we don't have to worry about it expiring

Wow, what a bargain! It's nice when you stumble upon deals like that for places you enjoy. I'll let you know what our experience is like at Captian's Grille. We decided to book it for dinner one night because we wanted to try out some new places. If I don't do a TR, I'll at least tell you what we thought!

By the way, did you see some of the disney dooney bags are now sold online at the Disney Store site?

I will be looking forward to hearing what you think of Captain's Grille! Isn't it fun trying out new places at WDW? There's so much to choose from we always enjoy trying new things!

We did see the bags online although so far they aren't offering all the styles. The new cruise one is really cute! (but that's only available on the ships)

So why did you choose Boardwalk over Beach Club?

They both are the same area.
Beach Club has Beaches & Cream and Stormalong Bay.
Boardwalk has the boardwalk, Jellyrolls, and more restaurants.
So I can see pros and cons for both...

It is very simple actually. Beach Club was our first choice and Boardwalk was 2nd. Beach Club was full which made the decision really easy

All 3 of us love that area so even though BW may have been second choice we couldn't be more excited. We will take advantage of being in that area and will be dining at BC, YC and BW.

You can get some good deals on that site and there are always codes to get them even cheaper. We have used it a few times for places in our area but this is the first time we're using it on a trip

I think you all know Caitlin hasn't been on the dis too much the last few weeks because she's been busy with finals and all the end of the semester work. Well her grades posted today and guess who made the Dean's List, AGAIN! I am so proud of her! She has taken courses for 5 semesters now and made the Dean's List EVERY TIME! Pretty awesome especially for a kid with A.D.D!

Just had to share my excitement with our Dis friends!

We have had several disappointments as to what WON'T be at WDW when we're there (yes I mean you Summer Nightastic and MNSSHP) so I am excited to report something they WILL have while we're there! I just learned Captain EO will be back starting in July so I am excited that we will be able to catch it!

Dale and I are so old that when we were in high school "Thriller" was the biggest album (yes records!) at the time. So we were MJ fans before he got creepy and when we went to WDW for the first time together in 1986 Captain Eo was the newest attraction at Epcot! It will be fun to relive the old days and to share it with Caitlin

4 months from today we check into Boardwalk Villas Even though we were at WDW last month, I cannot wait to go back

Yeah Caitlin!!! Awesome grades. My son was on the Dean's list (Wayne State) for his first semester (fall 2009) but this semester he has some trouble with a Micro Biology class, so I feel for him. Although it was a B he got(or B+, I need to ask, he was pretty grumpy!) but I know how college kids get when it's time for finals. (I say this with a smirk, since I am one myself, I just took this semester off. lol GO BLUE)

And restaurant.com is cool. We got some Buffalo Wild Wings ones from there for 2.00 and now BWW won't honor them, so I would call House of Blues the day you plan on going, just so you know they will take them. But awesome deal, and I'm sure it will be fine.

4 months!! Yeah!! I have to put my ticker on, we leave in June, it's nice to see that countdown go DOWN.

I'm hoping the Nightastic sticks around but so far the material I've gotten just lists it until the 14th of August. Guess we'll have to wait and see what happens but fingers are crossed for it staying!

Captain EO was at the time a cool short scifi movie with a couple MJ performed songs thrown in. It was the first 4D attraction (3D with lasers and smoke making the 4thD) At the time it seemed really cool and advanced. I'm not so sure it will still be cool 20+ years later but it will be fun to check out!

It was announced yesterday and I think they are putting it in the various parks around the world. It's always fun to have something different each visit so we will enjoy checking it out.

I've read on the Dis about the House of Blues being on restaurant.com and people using them so it should be fine but thanks for the heads up!
