Princess Caitlin pre trip August '10 costarring dawnbu40

I have no idea about the rooms. I've never been, so I don't knwo the overall condition. Some on the POP thread thought their rooms were very tired and others thought it was great. :confused3 Though,I guess a flat screen is a nice touch and certainly creates more room, but I think I would rather a fridge. ;)
Everyone has their own standards and expectations I so I guess that accounts for the differences of opinion. We went into Pop rather skeptical so we ended up being pleasantly suprised. I hope you just get a room you are satisfied with :)

Thanks we're really looking forward to our AK meet too! I should tell you that Caitlin has been looking into spending a week at GKTW as a volunteer. She has been so moved by various Wish TRs and is so excited about meeting Piper that it has truly inspired her. She was really bummed to learn she has to be 21 but is totally planning on doing it! Since she has to wait for that she just contacted the local Salvation Army and signed up to tutor under-priviledged kids twice a week. :thumbsup2 I keep thinking she should become a teacher but she says she feels passionate about law. I'm sure if she becomes a lawyer though she'd end up doing a lot of charitable work :)

That's so awesome, Dawn. I didn't realize volunteers had to be 21, but I'm not surprised. I know they let wish families come back and volunteer, but with parents there liability prob isn't as much of an issue. Very cool that she's going to do the tutoring! There are actually lawyers that specialize in rights for the disabled, even kids. I know of at least one lawyer who only works with CF families. So there are a ton of directions she could go in! I have to agree with you though, from what I know of her (which admittedly isn't a ton) I do think she'd be a great teacher also! It says a lot about you and dh Dawn, that Caitlin has grown up to be the woman that she is.

Caitlin..Read what I wrote above for your Mom and just change the "she's" to "yous" LOL! Seriously though, it's very cool to see someone your age being actively involved in something like helping wish kids. Piper is so excited to meet you, and talks about you often! Speaking of which, in the next couple of days here I'll shoot you all a pm with my cell number! :lovestruc:

You got me all misty eyed  Thank you for all of the nice compliments

I am very passionate about my volunteer work and reading all of the Wish Trips I come across makes me want to be a part of a families trip by making sure it is extra special :wizard:

I am so excited to meet both you and Piper I think I bring up meeting you two at least once a day :rotfl:

I can't believe we will be leaving in two weeks! I only have 3 days of classes left and it seems like time has flown by!

You're very welcome, but just the truth, hon! The time HAS flown by..we've had our dates for months, so I can only imagine how quickly it's seemed to go by for you! I finally took all the Give stuff out of the boxes & mailers last night and started sorting it by what needs to go in the carry-ons, etc. I think my one duffle plan might just be in jeopardy!

Amanda-Caitlin wasn't the only one touched and made misty eyed by your post! Thank you!

Caitlin has been doing all the posting of our plans BUT I have planned a suprise for her and my mom on this day so I'm posting our plans because well, I'm hiding the itinerary from her :rotfl:

This day will be starting very early for Caitlin as this is 5K Day! This is Caitlin's first 5K and since it's the "Royal Family" 5K she is very excited! (Tiana and Naveen are the hosts)The race raises money for a Leukemia Foundation and Caitlin is participating in honor of a young girl we know who was recently diagnosed with Leukemia.
Now that I've given you some background ,here's our day....
6:20 am Caitlin cab to Epcot
7:00 am 5k Race
9:00 meet up at Epcot (after mom and I have had breakfast at Pop foodcourt)
Trade GAD ticket for fast pass option since park may be busy today
Caitlin and Gramma ride Soarin
Innoventions West and East
Test Track
11:00 head to World Showcase
Movie in Canada
12:00 lunch at Chefs de France (we planned to do this Sunday but discovered Remy is off on Sun)
After lunch split up while Caitlin does Kim Possible and mom and I explore the Flower Fest and take in the American Adventure
3:00 meet in Uk for the British Invasion
Leave Epcot for suprise...

After the suprise, we will see how everyone's feeling and decide if we want to return to Epcot or visit DTD or go back to resort. Keeping it flexible since Caitlin may be tired after the party Fri night and the early call for the race!

If we don't catch Illuminations on this night we will go the next night

You all made me weepy!! Thank you....it keeps everything real and makes me appreciate everything I have!!!

I can't wait to hear what surprise you have planned!!! I love surprises!!!!

Oh that race sounds fun! I might even try it if I got to meet Tiana and Naveen. :lmao: What a great motivation, too.

Hmm, yes, I'd like to know the secret. Does the DIS have password protected threads?:rotfl:

Sorry girls but I am going to have to keep you in suspense :rotfl: My family is horrible at keeping secrets and pulling off suprises. If I am able to suprise them I will end up being the most suprised of all

Plans for March the 6th sound great ! Can't wait to see what the surprise turns out to be , it will be killing me to know until you reveal it ! lol

popcorn:: joining in popcorn::

Hi MiaBella!:flower3: Thanks for joining us!

Thanks! I actually have to tweak them a bit. We just found out Caitlin has to be there BY 6:15 for the race  She will be one tired young lady!
I am excited about the suprise and hope they like it :)

Joining in as well. :)

I have to say our next trip we're staying at the Pop and I've been reading every TR that mentions it since we found our.

Hi Jinxy!:wave2: Glad you've joined us! My husband and I stayed at Pop in Sept and we were impressed. The CMs there were the nicest and most helpful of any Disney resort we've stayed at! I hope you like it!

Only 11 more days :yay: Yep that's the good news of the day! The bad, well we think Caitlin has broken her middle toe :sad2: She was letting the dogs out yesterday and turned around and walked into the wall. :confused3 At the time it hurt and she fell to the ground but she lay there laughing so I didn't think too much of it. However, she went to the gym last night and when she came home her toe was purple, swollen and she was in a good deal of pain :headache: I looked up broken toes online and the consensus is she doesn't need to see a doctor (ours is closed til Monday anyway) and that she should keep it elevated and taped. Does anyone have any other suggestions?
We do realize this is not that big of a deal and won't stop us from enjoying our trip (may interfere with 5k plans though) but it's one of those little annoyances you don't really want at vacation time, you know?

I was chatting with her on facebook last night when I saw her post....poor thing! You're right though, it won't interfere that much! A lot can change in 11 days, so we'll keep our fingers crossed that she's all mended by then.

Can't believe it's 11 days:cool1::cool1:

Woohoo for 11 days! party: I would definitely go with tape and elevation..that being said, if there hasn't been some improvement in a few days you may want to get it x-rayed just to make sure it's just the toe and not the bone running down from it. *been there..done that* We initially thought it was just the toe (little toe, mind you) and I ended up in a cast up to my knee. I doubt that's the case, but better safe than sorry, esp with the trip coming up so fast :goodvibes:
