If my friend just wants to get to the castle to watch me at the MK and then go back to see the finish. What is the best way for her to travel? She is not planning to get up and leave with me at 4am but would like to be at the MK to cheer me on there. Are the buses going to be running that early for spectators? I would guess she would need to be at the MK by about 645 (just guessing based on corrals and my pace).

What's the best way to do this? Thanks for the help!!

To be there and on time she really needs to get to the race staging area and kick around with you. Then once you head to the corrals, she can head to the monorail station and catch a ride up to the MK and Main Street. From there, it is a simple monorail ride back to the finish. Race day busing will be preempted for a period during the race and she will be impacted by that preemption. So sleeping in may not allow her to get to Main in a timely manner.

As an alternative, she could hail a cab from the resort to the TTC (not MK but the TTC). The race has some impact on getting there and the cabbie will be taking a slight detour to get to the TTC, but it is an open spot for dropping spectators. There is a cost (<$20) but it would allow some sleep in time… Even with this, she still needs to plan on leaving the resort earlier than normal to allow for any detours and traffic issues that may slow her trip. She should plan on getting to Main no later than 6:15-6:20 to assure that she can get a spot near the rope.

THanks so much for the advice. I'll share this with her and see what happens. :)

I have a follow-up question for you Coach.

My friend won't want to come and watch the start and then sit for three hours to watch me finish. He has never been to Disney World and would get lost if I started to give him directions on where to go and when.

Where is someplace relatively easy to get to using regular Disney transportation to catch me at some point? Take the Epcot bus and hike across the parking lot to the finish area and try to make it up to the fence?

I think that one of the easiest way to see you in several places is for your friend to take the monorail from Epcot to the Transportation & Ticket Center. They can then either stay there to watch you pass or hop on the MK monorail and watch you on Main St, then when you pass, head back on the monorails to Epcot and the finish
