Seriously? You’re suggesting disdain by a bunch of Disney-loving suburban soccer moms equates to some sort of physical threat? Not really.

For some reason the Boo To You song came to mind when I read this. The British public are honing their boos.

Well, there’s no way to know for sure, but it’s possible Diana may have done the same thing if her life hadn’t been tragically cut short, immortalizing her beloved public image. There have been lots of seemingly credible reports of her extreme bitterness towards the Firm and her erratic and impulsive behaviour, perhaps geared more towards vexing them than anything else. Was her tell-all interview, and the book she purposely fed to the press really that much different in intent than the Oprah debacle?

No, she wasn't perfect but she had realistic fears and genuine grievances. Her biggest fear was losing custody of her children, which was reasonable (though not the case), because her adversary in custody was the crown, and her husband's supporters were portraying her as being mentally ill. As for her grievances, well, it's pretty obvious she had the right to be angry about the situation she was trapped into at age 19.

Nothing that's happened with Harry or Meghan can hold a candle to what Diana had to contend with, and she showed a lot more grace and restraint than they have.

I think for the most part, the British public were ready to love Harry and Meghan as a couple, and in a team with William and Catherine. As I think I said in the other thread a few months back, they could have been such a force for good.
I don't think the UK press has been particularly fair to Meghan at times, no, but then I also don't think she and Harry have acted in ways to ingratiate themselves to the press. Camilla had an awful time too in the press, but seems to have come through the other side and reports on her always seem favourable.
Now, if it is true that Harry really doesn't like Camilla, then he wouldn't see it that way, I understand that. But surely there should have been enough courtiers and advisors ummm advising him. And if he and Meghan didn't listen then they only have themselves to blame.
I think Meghan thrives on the drama. There have been reports in our press that she will never return to the UK, so by default, I guess that means the children will never visit either. Maybe Harry issuing law suits like smarties is a cover for Meghan and what she wants.
