I think it's been reported that she wants a low key wedding anyway, really private, not televised. There's even been reports of it happening in Italy at a private venue or at the family home in the UK so I'm guessing that it won't have the impact it would have had had it been Eugenie. We didn't see too much of the wider royal family for that one either. Cut out the trip to the chapel and we actually only saw Andrew for a short amount of time. It was Harry's wedding that was the big media event.

He'll be side lined and told to stay private. He'll do this because he knows he's messed up. (I'd put something stronger but...rules) My guess is that he won't be seen in public for some time except to be at the back to the line at public events such as being on the balcony at Buck Palace. The queen has huge estates with many homes on them. He'll be told to lay low in one of these. The locals will get to see him but they are long time keepers of royal secrets. There are other royals who you never see in the press and my guess is he'll fade into the background alongside them.

The royals are hugely popular over here and most of the public always forgives them. Wills and Kate are immensely popular figures, as are their children. There's no way anything will stop them from taking the throne and by then Randy Andy (as we've always called him over here ) and his misdemeanours will be long forgotten.

There are so many people involved from both sides of politics, academia, royalty. Its really mind blowing the possible involvement.

I keep hearing this, but so far, no one has been naming names. From what I have seen Andrew is the only "big fish" being implicated (aside from Clinton). One gets the sense that those in power who may have been involved want this story to go away. Look at how ABC had the story and summarily dismissed it years ago. If not for Andrew's stupid interview, it would probably still be relegated to the back page.

Oh, you are probably right. I saw the snippet of the interview while I was cooking, so my focus was on other things. Either way, really Prince Andrew? Someone is going to photoshop your hand? Ugh. Puhleeze.

It's been in the news for days, everyone knew it was coming. As I said before, the Queen is extremely cognizant of how the royal family is viewed by the public and would act very swiftly on damage control, as she seems to have done here (even though publicly they've made it appear it was Andrew's doing and yes, word is that Andrew is her favorite son).
