Prince Andrew

As the OP, I'd appreciate it if we could keep the racial wars out of this thread so we can continue to follow and discuss the story as it develops about Andrew and the Epstein case, and the royal family in general.

I think it's been fairly well established that there are plenty of reasons why Meghan can be seen as controversial that don't necessarily involve race.

No thank you. There's a lot of hate out there towards Meghan Markle because she is of mixed race. I won't let that slide. If the person I asked can't answer why he or she can't stand someone, that says something, doesn't it? Why not just say "I don't like the way she handled this" or "her viewpoint on this issue is against my beliefs". Are we not supposed to ask why when someone states a blunt opinion?
She hasn't had as much hatred as Catherine got before she married from the insulting way her family was and still is treated to the waity Katie nickname the press used. As for Meghan and Harry their rules for thee and not for me is irritating the plebs must reduce flights because of reducing carbon footprint but they take private planes.

He's guilty as hell. It's obvious.

Meanwhile, I literally have no idea why people don't like Meghan Markle. Nor do I understand what business it is of theirs.

Wouldn’t they need to start also questioning the many celebrities and politicians that had ties to Epstein here in the US?

I'm flummoxed why this hasn't ballooned into a bigger investigation. Maybe it has and it's just not public yet.

Why would an American care if Meghan is not English or that Harry married someone who is bi-racial?

Why should an American care about ANYTHING regarding the British Royal Family? Do Americans who have opinions about Meghan Markle also have opinions about the spouse of the youngest child of the King of Belgium? Do people who don't like Meghan Markle even know who the king of Belgium is?

I know! I don’t get it. Why is all the focus just on Prince Andrew? I mean yeah, he is guilty but they may be too.

the victim didn’t present herself very well

Then the obvious answer is a conspiracy and the picture of Prince Andrew with Virginia Giuffre is faked. Anhydrosis, a genetic condition, was actually triggered by combat stress. and Andrew couldn't possibly have sweated at a nightclub in 2001, and doesn't know this woman at all. Nope, nope. It's a conspiracy.

This woman, who Andrew never met, came up in an email between Andrew and Epstein's co-conspirator, Ghislaine Maxwell, in 2015.

I mean, isn't it because the British media is covering it? Whereas the US media seems to be mostly ignoring allegations against Trump, Clinton, Mitchell, Richardson, etc.

Truthfully I think Meghan would get better press treatment if her clothes fit her better. Shallow and petty? Absolutely.
The royals are not often shown speaking or doing a heck of a lot. That leaves a vacuum just begging to be filled with commentary on how they look, particularly with women.

Meghan is a perfectly attractive woman who always dresses adequately for the occasion. Personally I never heard of her until she was plastered everywhere as Harry's girlfriend. Something that always draws my eye when I see a picture of her is her clothes never seem to fit her quite right. Her wedding dress attracted a lot of comment for that very issue. Apparently since it's a constant it must be her preference for her clothes to be fit that way, which is absolutely her right. I believe it's something that subtly adds to negative press for someone in a position where they may be frequently seen, yet rarely "heard" or are thought to be truly "doing" anything worthwhile. The same woman in a Hollywood lens or spotlight would get the opportunity to be seen playing a character people really liked or showing tremendous acting range playing a character people loved to hate or being funny on a talk show or have other PR possibilities to shape public opinion.

Maybe so. Maybe there is investigations going on but we just aren't hearing about it?

A lot has been known for more than a decade, yet things finally started getting addressed (to a point) much more recently. IMO it's all about money and power controlling what's happened, and what the press does or doesn't publish. It's sickening.
