Considering Chef Mickeys, 1900 Park Fare, and Crystal Palace. Thanks!

I'd like to know the answer to that one too! I've got all of those restaurants booked.

1) We did CP two weeks ago and didn't see any.
2) But, that is not a for certain conclusion.

Prime Rib was yummy at TRAILS END 4-4-09! And they were very accomodating at changing ADR'S last minute from 6:05 to 8:00pm. Bathroom location STINKS!!! I thought a resteraunt had to have one on site, not "Past the Big Porch on the right":confused3 dirict quote from server. Which is way past the buffet and bordering on Hoop-De-doo waiting area. My only complaint about dining there. Good thing I have DDs,DS&DH housebroken!;) Bad for the landscaping and public!

I know it's gone for sure from the CP lunch buffet. Too bad too, it's my son's favorite thing on the menu.

The prime rib was gone from Chef Mickey's when we were there 1st week in Dec 08. DS was pretty disappointed and it came as a shock to us. DS actually discovered the missing prime rib by reading the menu while we were waiting to be seated. The hostess assured us that it had been replaced by a better cut of steak. I don't know about that, but thankfully, we did enjoy the other cut of beef they were offering, it just wasn't prime rib. I felt it was a cross between roast beef and strip steak.

Since then, I have read conflicting statements: one saying that Disney chose to replace the prime rib due to the fact that prime rib was best served in large slices and the buffet goers want smaller slices :confused3 the other stating that Disney wanted to cut costs. :sad1:

For our August trip we will still choose some buffets, but I have been looking for restaurants which offer prime rib. So far I have found Prime Rib on the Le Cellier menu as well as Kona. Who knows though, menus are always changing so even those are no guarantees. I'm sure we will enjoy just about anything they offer (we will be at Disney after all!)

Did Chef Mickeys on Tuesday of last week and had Prime Rib.

I've heard its on sort of a rotation basis at some dining spots. Maybe you could call and confirm?

So its not that its gone, but it was replaced with another cut of meat?

That was one of my "sure things I would eat" at Chef Mickeys. I hope its not gone.

Maggie
