Prima and other flower swap - COMPLETE

This is a Prima & other Flowers Swap, it's pretty easy to do, so anyone can participate! The rules are really simple:

You pick your color and give each person a certain amount of each flower. All you have to do is put each person's in a small baggie and write color, group number and your user name on the outside. That is it!

Because there are different sizes and brands of flowers, we've come up with a "scale" of sorts. (I stole this from another board. ) 30 Small, 20 Medium or 10 Large. I have no problem with mixing and matching sizes, just make sure it is pretty much equal, so it's fair - for example, one Prima "milkbottle" split between the group is fine.

I'll start out with three groups of 10. If you want more, I'll open more!

Due Date is 6 April. Mailing Date is 23 March - remember it takes about 2 weeks from you to me! I aim to mail 17 April, but if I get everyone's before, I'll send them out! I will reuse your packaging if possible - the priority envelopes generally survive OK, please remember to complete a customs form showing a value of UNDER £17 before/at mailing or USPS will return it to you. Return postage will be about $10 for 2-3 groups(if you only have one group it will be about $7) - I've found the easiest thing is to slip cash $ in with the swap (no cheques or money orders please as it costs £25 to cash them ) And no pre-paid postage unless you have some UK stamps lying around

Rita, once sign-ups close here's the tricky part - divide your flowers by the number in your group and.....er..... that's it! That's a way off yet so let me know if you have any questions - I know not everyone is used to the overseas mailing thing and may have questions, which I'm happy to help with

Next question:
How do I determine what is a "Lg, Med and Sm' (alto I think that one is easy!)" I dont want to short any one.Do I determine it by the sizes in the tin or tube?
And Im sure I will have more questions! I was waiting for this one. My Ms issued coupons in January for 50% off and I kept buying Primas just for this!
And this morning I got online before signups were up and I was diappointed! Got back on and you were there! Yea!

It often says on the tube (my large ones are not very large - I think about 1 1/2"). For me, the medium are "average" prima size - say1"-ish, and small are those tiny ones less than 1/2" (you know, the ones that are a PITA to count out and fix but look sooooo cute )

An average pack split by group is about right - no help? I use the milkbottles, and most poeple seem to end up with about 10 out of that bottle The numbers are more for if you are just splitting up a mixed stash. But generally a small jewellery bag per person is about right

The boys loved the postcards - Kicky is on (again) about getting him a lizard . And Belgium was lovely - lots of Leffe, nice food, some kite flying and a trip to Ypres.

I'd love to sign up, but we went to talk to a mortgage broker on Thursday, and we are right on track for buying a house this year. Our plan is to buy in Sept/Oct, so I'm feeling especially motivated to spend less money the next 6 months. But I promise if you host it next year, I will sign up!

Hi Mazda. I would like to join but I would have to go to the store and get flowers - not sure what I'd get. If you'll "save" me a spot, I'll run to the store tonight and post what I get --- or if there's a request, I can look for that. Is that okay? I've recently started using flowers quite a bit and would love to have more. Don't tell DH though - he thinks I "quit" swapping b/c he said it was too expensive.

Those who have signed up, are you happy with the small groups or do you want to make two larger ones? It will mean some of us are in a group twice, but that has happened before so I can deal with it OK.

I'd prefer the small groups if nobody else signs up. My bottle of blue flowers works best for a small group. I was going to buy another bottle if the groups got larger. I can still go buy another bottle if everyone else would prefer combining the groups.
