Pricing for dapper dans and other bits

Hello experienced ladies of the DisBoards! I'm hoping you can help with a little confusion of mine.

We're getting married next year, Thursday June 2nd, Wishes wedding. We had our planning session at the start of December, and our BEO came through yesterday. I've been basing my budgeting on the passporter book, knowing that some stuff might be a bit different due to customisation etc. However, the dapper dans have been quoted at $2400, but in the book they're $1600. If people don't mind, can you let me know how much you paid for dapper dans?

My other confusion is DJ, which I know is much more flexible in pricing. Passporter says $1650 for four hours with lighting ($1000 without lighting). I know we're having a longer reception (were extending), but we've been quoted $1900 for six hours without lighting. Does this sound about right to you guys?

Thanks in advance.
Vikki

When was Passporters published? I've not read it mainly because I couldn't get the website to work and then gave up as my consultant and coordinator have been wonderful...

I know that ALL the prices have gone up recently. I also know my fiancée and I won't be getting Annual Passes with our Escape wedding as we booked in November (it finished in September or October) so prices are VERY VERY mobile...

Disney prices for things they are selling are the prices they quote pretty much and go up and up...

Yes, unfortunately, that's the new price. It just went up recently, and it went up a *LOT*. It will be in the next update to the PassPorter e-book, which will be ready in time for the New Year. When it's released, you can get the new version for free by logging back into your PassPorter account and re-downloading the e-book file.

DJ prices vary by venue. The price I put in the PassPorter is a starting point and applies mostly to ballrooms. Where is your reception?

The PassPorter e-book is updated about three times a year and whenever there's a major change in pricing or policy. The next update is coming out in a few weeks. It sounds like you're sorted, but just in case, PassPorter has resolved the problems they were having with their site last month and there should be no issue with downloading the e-book now. :thumbsup2

Actually, some of them went down! Unless you're in Canada, you'll be paying $500 less for that Escape wedding than you would have a year ago!
Perhaps...but they also took out an inclusion WORTH $1400....so...no not seeing the value

Carrie, I knew you'd have all the answers! I've got the most recent PassPorter, and I think it's about the 7th version now! I first bought it quite a while before the pricing structure changed, so I know all about Disney and price changes! I think this jump just came as a bit of a shock, as it is a LOT higher, as you say!

American Adventure Dining Room and Parlour. I knew DJ pricing would be variable, but that explains that one! Thank you!
If it's any help, the price of the Landau carriage hasn't changed! Lol! Sadly, we need to somehow shave about $4000-5000 off our estimated bill, so I think the carriage will have to go (although I will be hanging on to it until the last minute, and change many other things first!) Fingers crossed that number will go down though, as that's a guess based on what I think our floral quote will be.
