Prices being removed from menus?

FIL is currently at the world and noticed the prices being removed from the menus. They are usually dining plan people so it’s making them really wish they had opted for the dining plan. They said they had no trouble getting the prices when asking the server, but that seems insane to me. Has anyone else noticed the prices being removed?

If this is the case in general, this would be a terrible idea. Guests will have to ask servers about the price of every item they are considering, and it will take up a lot of extra time.

I find it very hard to believe that Disney would do away with menu prices. Was he at a buffet/family style restaurant like Ohana, Boma, Liberty Tree Tavern etc.... They have seasonal/variable pricing so they don't always have the price printed on them.
I agree. The time spent back and forth and asking questions about price that this would add would seriously hinder table turnover.

I’ll ask, too: where was this?

At some fancy restaurants, only the person at the head of the table (the person who’s paying the bill) gets the menu with prices on it, and everyone else gets a “guest” or “ladies” menu which does not have the prices. I’ve never seen one at Disney, but I would really like them to offer them when I dine with my parents. As frugal as my parents are, they spend way to much time focused on the price and not on the selection. “Guest” menus would make my life so much easier on vacation.

Very crazy. We were there in April. Ate at many TS signature restaurants and every menu had prices. Seems like a strange change to make.

I wouldn't be surprised if V+A would do this on request. They have no problem making up menus for special occasions as souvenirs.

The only menus I can think of without prices listed would be for a prixfixe menu where it just says something like "Standard Dining Plan Entitlement" at the top, then lists your options for each course.

ETA: I've also seen these for special events, like a prepaid dinner package for MNSSHP we did at Blue Bayou a couple years ago, and we had a special party-only menu to order from
