I called to book for the last week in September, for 4 nights at WL wood view the new dining plan 2 counter services and 2 snaxk and a park hopper, over $2500.00. Looks like my Disney days are over been going sinc I have been 17 and ready to see some other parts of this country. Anyone have a favorite spot other then Disney that they loved when they visited there?:)

The funny thing is every time I called to book certain dates they seem to be sold out?? I think people still go to Disney even in these bad times. They must not be hurting to bad.

Do you have to stay at the WL:confused3 ...why not price out a moderate or value resort...or wait and see if any codes come out...with the way the economy is I'm sure Disney will release some codes for the Fall.

AKL is the least expensive deluxe resort and it's fantastic! Maybe you could give it a try.

Or if you could change your dates, Disney has extended the 4/3 offer until August.

I have been playing around with a trip this year, and even with the specials, I am finding the prices more than we usually pay. I keep reading about how travel prices are great, but I am just not seeing them.

Whenever I have priced, AKL and WL are priced the same.

We were going to go to South Carolina - our budget trip usually. Well for the week they wanted 4200! And we had to leave on July 4. Not even stay that night!
So we started looking at Disney again. Trying to find a budget way to go. And with the 4/3 deal it may happen.

AKL and WL are usually about the same.

You could try a mod! Or stay - gasp - off the Disney property.

I've been a lot of places, but none of them were as fun as Disney. No nightly fireworks, either.

My favorite trip, after Disney, was to the San Juan islands in the late summer/early fall. Hiking, sight-seeing, whale-watching, shopping. It was very pretty, nice weather. Very relaxing and still fun. And they have air you can really breathe!

AKL has slight discount due to the construction-almost every room with a view has construction views now

To the OP- I remember back in December you posting that your Dec trip was difficult to pay for.:confused3 -why going back so soon?
To me, there are lots of wonderful places in the USA that are a lot cheaper and more interesting-Historical places, National parks, Art Museums, NYC, Washington, Colonial Williamsburg...etc:thumbsup2

Really??? They extended the deal until August???? Hooray!!!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:
When did they change this?

I agree-no need to give up on my WDW trips. We are planning to go in the summer and downgrading to a Value. I LOVE the resorts, but as long as I'm on property and in WDW, I'm still happy:goodvibes

Yes, till August 15th. I got the email from my TA yesterday.

I'm a total cheapskate because I stay offsite. ;)

We stayed offsite last year too, and it was great!!!!

The next time we go, we'll also be eating most of our meals offsite, because WDW has become to crazy expensive at their restaurants - especially their character meals. We fell in love with the local Sonic, and we also found some other great places. We also had a kitchen in our place, so I made our breakfast most of the time - that was a great cost savings :thumbsup2

WDW can be as expensive or as least expensive as you want to make it.

To answer the OP's question about where else I like to go........

I want to take my kids to Washington DC, Hawaii, Jamaica, and Grand Cayman. We are going to start going to some of these places now that my girls are getting older.
