Does anyone know if any of the Universal Studio (Loew's) Hotels ever show up on priceline?

We have just decided to go to Universal for part of our stay but there is no way we can justify the price listed for Universal - even with the front of line pass.

We are going in mid-october and are looking how to cut every last extra penny out of the budget.

If you have used priceline to get a Universal Hotel or another great hotel right by Universal I would love to hear about it.

Thanks in advance for your help!

You may want to look at mousesavers.com. I copied from their site what it says about going through hotwire. Sometimes the Universal resorts show up.
This is what mousesavers say:

"Although the names of the hotels aren't listed, currently it's fairly easy to tell if it's a Universal Orlando hotel being offered in the Hotwire listing. This information is subject to change and there is never any absolute guarantee that you'll get a specific hotel, but here are some hints that have worked for many people:

Select the "Universal Orlando and SeaWorld" area.
Portofino Bay is rated 5 stars, Hard Rock Hotel is 4.5 stars and Royal Pacific is 4 stars.
On the page that displays star ratings, amenities and prices (before you purchase), all three Universal hotels will have the following distinctive icons under Amenities: Golf Course Nearby, Tennis Court Nearby, Children's Activities. (Other hotels in that area and in the same category don't carry those icons.) There will be other icons (i.e. Restaurants) listed as well, but other hotels in that category may also have those.
Portofino Bay will have the Spa icon in addition to the above.
Royal Pacific will have the Resort icon (an R in a box) in addition to the above but will NOT list "kitchenette."
These hotels aren't available through Hotwire for all dates! You may find all three, just one or two, or none of them being offered for a particular set of dates.
Remember, this information is subject to change and there is never any absolute guarantee that you'll get a specific hotel when using Hotwire!"

Maybe this will help a little. :wave2:

what are your dates? Loews is running a internet special right now, and its a good deal depending on how long you want to stay and availablity.

Before you nix the idea of staying onsite you should explore all the discounts and specials offered. The 'rack rates' are indeed very expensive, but there are many discounts offered at various times, including aaa and aph.

For example, the dates Oct. 16-20, RPR is $139/night with aph discount

No, I've not seen any Loews Universal hotels on Priceline, check out biddingfortravel.com

Expedia is running specials for october right now! $191/ night for RPR
