Has anyone bought airline tickets through price line? Wondering if it would be cheaper than booking through Southwest direct? How does it work? Do you register at the 24 hour mark on SW website or on price lines? Any other ideas for helping with the cost of airline tickets?

Also consider that if something goes wrong you now have to deal with both Priceline AND the airline who will point fingers at each other. There is almost no savings I would take to book airline tickets via a third party.

Also:
I suggest that you go to the Priceline website and carefully read the rules and terms. Also do a search of this board; you'll find lots of good info here. Personally, I wouldn't use them for airline tickets.

I think the OP is not familiar with how Priceline works.

Not at all....I love SW I just don't love the prices

I never recommend booking a flight through Priceline or Expedia. If something should go wrong, you have to deal with them, not the airline. And it isn't easy.....too many reports of people having issues trying to resolve an issue.
Also, I seldom find a fare on either of these two sites that is lower than on the airline site.

The only way it would be cheaper is if you do a name your own price, and then you can't pick your times or how many times you stop. I've known people do it and leave at 6 am make two stops and get there 12 hours later for a 2 hour trip. No thank you.

Unless you agree otherwise your flight will depart between 6a-10p. You'll have no more then one connection.

That said most "experts" suggest PLs name your own price typically offers little savings for airfare.

I went ahead and booked our flight...$650 for 5 tickets (one way)...no stop through Southwest...not too bad
