Priceline - NYC

I'm looking for a hotel for the night before our DCL in NYC. I would prefer the Times Square area - any tips or suggestions on using priceline to get a room for a decent price??? It would just 2 of us and all I need is something clean, no frills necessary.

I've used Priceline successfully for that area. Best advice- go to www.biddingfortravel.com and see what bids have been winning. I normally bid 4* and won't go below 3.5*. I look at all the areas in the city before I start bidding and make a list of the free rebid areas.

About 2 years ago, I used www.AirBnB.com. Amazing site, some good deals but not as good as they used to be because of the site's recent popularity.

If you're set on Priceline, give this a try: New York City Priceline Hotel List or else www.hoteldealsrevealed.com for their Priceline community.

I used Hotwire to get a room in Times Square.

With Hotwire, and using a site like BetterBidding.com, you can sometimes figure out which the hotels are.

I KNEW I was bidding on the DoubleTree in Times Square, by the amenities listed, and the fact that it was a suite hotel. It is right in Times Square too, and has loads of security.

Not sure what your budget is but,

I went on travelzoo.com and found casa hotel & residences for $215 a night (cheapest hotel near times square with good reviews about location/being clean)

let me tell you, PERFECT location. 2 blocks away from the disney store/times square

If you go on the site now it's about $400 a night (!!!) but like i said, i got a great deal on travel zoo. so try that!

Definitely read bidding for travel and learn how to properly bid and use your rebid zones. Definitely do NOT ask any questions on the website unless you want a major tongue lashing.

I researched using BetterBidding.com before our trip in December. The site was really helpful and people who responded to my questions were nice.
