Has anyone used Priceline to get a rental car? Rental prices are nuts right now. I was hoping that someone had some experience with Priceline and how it worked out for them. Thanks!

I've done it (ended up getting Budget), but it's been several years ago. Usually you can find better or equal rates using some combination of codes & coupons, but it is a good option if all else fails.
Just don't get too agressive with your bidding unless you are inside of a week to go until you need the vehicle as new discounts come out all the time given that the priceline rental is non-cancellable.

Priceline works great. But you have to make sure you are going. There are no refunds and you have to pay as soon as you book. Therefore it is better to wait until the last minute to use Priceline.

Price line has worked great when it is just me, but twice I've been quite annoyed by the rental companies nickel-and-diming me with as spouse as additional driver fee. Loyalty club, credit card, being on the same insurance didn't matter, it was a priceline reservation so nothing was waived.

Rental cars are crazy right now, even on Priceline. I used to always be able to get a large car (impala, Altima) for $16.00 per day unlimited miles. That all ended two years ago. I have been trying to score a care for May SWW trip. I can't even get an economy car for $25 per day.

I guess I was just really spoiled.
