Do you find that when you bid on Priceline you generally win the last flight TO your destination and the first flight HOME? Just trying to make flight plans (4th of July) when the schedule here at home is already hectic (and camps are already paid for!).

I've tried to Bid on their flights many times but was only successful in March 09. The flight left BOS mid day to DFW. The return flight to BOS from DFW also left Mid Day.

Where are you trying to fly from PWM?

Priceline is going to be given the least sold flights to sell through the bidding process. The last flight of the day down and first flight of the day coming back through my area (MHT and BOS) are always the least sold out based on the prices offered by the airlines when I take a look.

I don't like using Priceline or Hotwire for flights because I'm VERY particular about my flights. I like nonstops and I like choosing my time of day. I'm willing to pay extra for these. It's also part of the reason I stick with Southwest (though I'd consider JB); I know their flight schedules are stable.

BOS, PWM, and MHT are all high (going to Ohio, either CMH, CLE, CAK, or DAY) and I cannot touch airfare from BGR, or course, as that's most convenient, but PWM is only 2 hours away. I think I'll bite the bullet and bid for 7/2-7/5 and hope we get an afternoon/evening flight out as DD's dance program for the week is already paid and I'd like her to do at least 4 of the days. We really cannot afford this trip but DH's family is getting together and he really wants to go.

I know what you mean about BGR. I just don't think there are enough flights going through there. I've had a little like in PWM finding deals, but never a successful bid for Priceline there. Please let us know how you do with Priceline.
