Priceline Express Deals

The Swan has most of the advantages of staying at a Disney-owned resort, but then my prediction of that 4-star, 4.4 rated hotel being the Swan was the one I'm most in doubt of.
Isn’t Swan a 4.5 star and Dolphin 4?

It matches to YC Water view room by looking at transparent listing for the YC, which is off by $1.00. I think that the YC has an abundance of unbooked Water view rooms. When checking the non-Hot Rate listings, the Water view rooms are much lower in cost than the Standard and Garden view rooms, which is just the opposite of normal rates; the Water view is a premium view. Also, the posted distances to EP and DHS match exactly to the YC.

Has anyone booked this and does it actually state "water view" once you do? I specifically have NOT booked it yet because I want water view. I was able to book "water view" on Priceline for YC for October (hidden deal) but this Hotwire deal won't allow you to specify or know the type of room you are booking - it simply states they will pick the room or you can choose 2 queens or 1 king - but doesn't refer to location at all. It's not worth upgrading from CBR through Disney to YC through Hotwire if we are going to be looking at a rooftop or parking in the back of the hotel, but I'd love to have a nice water view sitting on the balcony at night again there if indeed these rooms are water view. Can anyone confirm/help? Thank you!!!

I just booked last night and it does show Water View in my MDE after I linked the reservation.

Looking at booking swan or dolphin for 2/18-2/19 for 2 adults. I'm not seeing any opaque deals on HW, but the Swan appears to be on PL. When I mock-book, PL tells me it will be $159.97 due immediately plus an additional $67.50 dur upon arrival in resort fees? I was under the impression that the resort fee was $35 (and parking an additonal $23. sigh)

When I mock book the Dolphin on HW (no opaque deals there) it tells me it will be $163.40 and a $39 resort fee???

Are these resort fees just random numbers that I should ignore?

People have reported seeing inexplicably high resort fees in the past. To the best of my knowledge, no one has gone ahead and booked rooms with those high fees and then reported back on what happened at check-out.

Just as importantly, the room prices you are reporting don't look like any type of bargain. Going directly to the hotel's website, I see the Dolphin available for $147 as a non-refundable reservation for your date. If you qualify for a discount, it may be even less. The AAA rate for your date is $140. At the Swan, the numbers are $156 and $149 respectively. Take a look at the Swandophin.com site before booking with Priceline or Hotwire. While a Priceline Express or Hotwire opaque deal can be a great bargain, it's sometimes no bargain at all.

Edit to add: I reread your post and now realize the numbers you're quoting from Hotwire are after taxes. If so, they almost match the numbers available directly from the hotel for a non-refundable reservation, and are even a couple of bucks cheaper. After adding in taxes and the resort fee, the Dolphin non-refundable room for a non-member is $205.04 total. You can save a few dollars by becoming a Marriott member.

The $35 resort fee is before taxes, and is subject to tax. It's a little over $39 with the tax.

Right. I had looked at booking directly as well. The "discount" is about $20, but I think the fees on the back end eat all of that up. Right now I have a room at CSR booked through disney, but we are considering switching that night to Swolphin to make our Friday logistics a bit easier. I'm definitely going to continue to wait since my CSR rate was a room transfer from ASMo not opening when they originally planned.

Check out rates on Marriott.com. The Dolphin is available for your dates for a total of $178, including resort fee and taxes, using the AP discount. Other discounts are available at slightly higher room rooms. The Swan prices out slightly higher than the Dolphin.

I definitely don't have an annual pass. When I priced it out it was $201 for the Dolphin, so unless the bottom drops out on HW/PL for these, looks like I'll be booking directly.

You're a lifesaver - THANK YOU! That was the only thing holding me up - going to book now!
@jenmsmith or anyone else in the know, before I press "buy" can you please confirm if you selected to let the resort assign any room or if you designated 1 king or 2 queens? I don't want to pick the wrong option, not get a water view and have a non-refundable hotel. Thank you again!

I selected 1 king. Although I have no idea if that will actually happen, as king rooms aren’t a usual bootable category at YC.

Just a tip- well, maybe a tip. Some of the people on the CSR board are speculating you may be moved again. Apparently the NBA minor league will be moving in to CSR shortly, so people will have to be moved. People are speculating it may be to CBR or to a deluxe. Would be a great deal if you paid all star prices to be moved there, and CBR puts you logistically in about the same spot since the skyliner is there.
Again, it’s all rumor and speculation, but I thought I’d share because maybe this will work out for you.

The G League is only taking over the Casitas section of CSR, which was the only one (besides the Tower) that had been open up to this point. Newly arriving guests with CSR standard view reservations are now being placed in Cabanas instead. Unless you have a preferred view reservation (which are only in Casitas), I wouldn't expect an upgrade.

Hi! I'm new to the forum. I am wanting to try booking through Hotwire for the first time for a trip next month. I have found what I believe is Coronado for $119 a night. My apprehension comes from reading where people have had difficulty calling and adding their children to the reservation after the fact. Any insight on how that is going lately? We would be booking a room with 2 Queen beds in it for 2 adults and 3 children (8, 5, and 2).

We have used hotwire for our last 3 trips... I had no issues adding the kids by calling Disney. The last trip was in December and I added them at the desk because it was a last minute trip. The funny part was I bought the tickets/ reservations two weeks before the trip as a resort guest ( I bought the hotwire hotel at the same time) I did not link them together untill the hotel.

G League started checking in yesterday. We are here at CSR now and so far no major changes at the resort.

I would expect to get Cabanas unless as mentioned above, already in preferred
