Priceline car rental price

You could get Hertz through Priceline. Many people on this board have gotten a full size car for $13.00/day through Priceline and it was with Hertz. Having said that, people who have used Hertz say that the shuttle runs regularly and they have had good experiences even though Hertz is not in the airport.

That's what I'm saying. Hertz and Avis are the largest, and tend to be highest-priced, rental agencies out there. In my experience, I haven't gotten a car from Hertz since I've been using Priceline, but others' experiences may vary. I suppose it also depends on where you're renting from.

There's really nothing you can do to improve your chances of NOT getting a particular car rental company when you bid. If the location of the agency is more important to you than saving what may be a substantial amount of money on a rental, then Priceline definitely isn't the way to go.

My $12/day midsize rental this month is priceline, and yes I got Hertz. I don't really care in this case, National with legit codes was coming in at $38/day. The Hertz shuttle at MCO is supposed to be quick and easy, and Hertz service is usually good.

Well there you go...my guess is that it depends on various factors including what type of car you're requesting and what stock the various agencies have on hand.

Either way, I agree with the other posters here. Offsite isn't a big deal, especially in a large airport like MCO - especially if you're saving 20-25% on the rental!

I used Hotwire and got a great deal. It was at Hertz, but the shuttles were great and we were only in the shuttle about 5-10 minutes before we pulled into the Hertz lot.

On the other hand, I've been trying to use Priceline to get cheapter car rates at Ft. Lauderdale airport and it's been a challenge. Every low price has been rejected.

It is very frustrating to get a cheap car rental through another airport. I feel spoiled when I rent a car to use through MCO.

Anyone want to post what they have gotten recently on priceline or any other make a bid site?

I tried for a premium the other day at 16 and was rejected.

I got a midsize for $11/day with Hertz for the last week in June. Last year we did Ft. Myers and cheapest I could ever get was a compact for $14, but they ran out of them when we arrived so they gave me a midsize (Avis).

We have the same as lpandorf of 11/day for June 17th-25th with Hertz.

I just got a mid-size car through Priceline (Hertz) for June 25 through July 4:

Your Offer Price: $12.00 (per day)
Total Rental Days: 9 days(8 days and 15 hours)
Subtotal: $108.00
Taxes and Fees: $80.40
Total Charges: $188.40
Lowest Published Price: $595.99 (USD)
Total Savings:* $407.59 (USD) (You saved 68%)

$188 for a 9 day rental for a mid-size, not too bad.

I tried last night for a mini van for 17 for 10 days and was rejected (agian)

I booked a full size with dollar with one of their "specials" for 15 % off a florida rental. It came to 280 with taxes and everything. this was a better rate than using the ooag.

I still may keep trying for a minivan.

My full size is a charger or similiar, how many large bags do you think we can get into a full size trunk? I checked online and the new chargers have 16.2 cubic feet space. Im thinking at least 4 and maybe some smaller carry ons.

Just curious. Why are the taxes and fees so high? That's about 75% of your rental price. Did you get a lot of add ons?

I don't know when you're going, but have you tried code OOAG? DD and her DFi have a Charger booked for their honeymoon in June, and the total price is less than $225.

ooag netted me 305.00 for our dates of may28-june7th the 15% off florida rate came up 280 for the same full size charger, same days. 10 days is probably not helping anything out as far as price.

Nope, no add-ons. I looked at other bids on Biddingfortravel and it looks like all rentals from MCO have about the same % taxes and fees.

We had a Charger in Hawaii - the trunk IS big...but we still had to put a couple of bags the backseat (thankfully we're a family of 3 so we had 1/2 the seat available). Now, this was a 10 day trip and we checked some really large suitcases. I think we had 2 carry-ons, a laptop, DS's backpack and probably 5 LARGE bags. Nothing will beat an SUV or van for cargo space tho.

I just got a minivan on PL for $20/day for 5/14-21 - National. (I had a $199/wk through Alamo originally.) I hadn't even thought about PL for my rental until I saw this thread, even though I've used it for hotels a fair amount. Plus, I should be able to add DH as an extra driver for free as an Emerald Club member. So, yay!

Booked last week through priceline for MCO. 1st bids of $12, $13 and $14 were rejected on consecutive days. On the 4th day, my bid of $15 per day for midsize was accepted with Alamo. Total for 7 days is $172 (May 27-June 2). Not a great deal, but I haven't found anything cheaper through the rental car websites.

:headache:

Best deal I've found for a midsize in mid-August is $200.77 thru Alamo with a Costco code - I need it for 3 full days + a few hours. Hotwire's price was $207 for a midsize at National... I want to pick it up at the Car Care Center to use to go to Vero Beach for 3 days after our week at BCV and return it to MCO. The full 10 day rental would be $425. :sad2: I have not tried Priceline yet 'cuz I am worried I won't be able to get what I want (pickup from the Car Care Center & ret. to MCO).

I just read this post and decided to give Priceline a try for the first time. On my first attempt I got a Full-Size car from Hertz (June 24 - July 1) for $13 per day ($91 + $63.09 tax = $154.09). Now that was easy! It beats my $240 price from Budget. I will be cancelling Budget soon! I think I may now be hooked on Priceline.

Just found this thread after a disappointing hour of trying different codes at different rental agency websites for our June Disney trip. Tried Priceline for the first time ever and I am now a convert.

Hertz accepted bid of $11/day for a midsized car June 6th-13th.
$77 rental plus $62 taxes and fees for total of $139. Not too shabby! :cool1: Best I could come up with otherwise using codes and prepay and anything else I could think of was $226.
