I think I may try Priceline I can't find a room with regular disney transportation witout paying over $100 just for a place to sleep so I thought I would try priceline as I've heard good reviews... if I choose the location as Disney Vicinity what does this include? DTD hotels or some on 1-92 as well... I really want to stay DTD/or disney area not off property... now I'm kicking myself for not booking the other night for the 87.00 at AASports!

You'll want to go to Biddingfortravel.com - this is a site dedicated to helping people bid on Priceline. They have a listing of the hotels in each area. We bid months ago for New Years Eve week, and got the Marriott Orlando World Resort for $85 a night. A little high, but that includes all taxes and fees, and it's for the 5 days surrounding NYE, so we're content.

when are you going?

with priceline you are taking a change - sometimes you get Dolphin/Swam - sometimes you get off site - the Marriott is off site - sometimes you get the Hilton in DD -

there is a wide area that priceline includes for WDW.

sometimes renting DVC points from a DVC member are the way to go - just depends upon when you are going.

Sun-thurs stay work best (check out on Friday morning) - weekend (fri/sat) stays are expensive

I second looking at www.biddingfortravel.com You will want to bid only for Resort or 3* hotels to stay close to the DTD area. Some of the hotels are farther away, and you'd want your own transportation.

Read thru the FAQs thoroughly and get prices from the hotels own website, and Sheryl will give you a bidding strategy. The board is not as gentle as this one, but it's a great way to risk the plunge with Priceline.

I wouldn't do Priceline if you didn't have your own transportation. There are 7 hotels in the 3* range in the WDW area - only 3 of them are DTD hotels. Hotwire is a better option since you can usually figure out which hotel it is before you book it. Courtyard by Marriot shows up as a 3-1/2* with restaurant, pool, and internet access as amenities. The Wyndham Palace also shows up frequently - it's the 4* with amenities of restaurant, pool, fitness center, business center, golf nearby, tennis nearby, and spa. It's also marked with "customer favorite". These 2 hotels can be booked through Hotwire for less than All-Stars. Also, there is a code right now for $59 for Courtyard - it's listed on this forum somewhere on the first page. You may want to try that out if you don't want to go the Hotwire route. The Downtown Disney hotels would be a good option for you - around $50 a night, bus transportation, and good location!!

Looked into Hotwire, only came up with 4 star for 161 a night and 3 1/2 star for 55 a night... and it went down from there. Help! I'm nervous about purchasing unless I know what hotel I may end up at. I once booked a time share resort and ended up at a dumpy motel across the street with "acess" to the resort... URGH! Tried Marriot for 59 but it requires one weekday night stay... I guess we could do S/Sunday... really only wanted sat but for a couple dollars more we might as well stay over again... anyone stayed at DTD marriot, how are the rooms, handicapped rooms?? Thanks in advance... oh yeah and how are the buses?
