Hi - We (DH, me and DD (who is 4) will be going to WWW on 9/26 for 7 days six nights staying at the Poly with GV. We upgraded to DDP and have park hopper passes for 6 days with no water parks. I am concerned that we paid more than we should have based on reading this thread and in talking with friends etc. that have been recently or are going.

Fox example, a friend of mine is going with her DH and son who is 4. They are staying 8 days, 7 nights with DDP and park hopper passes and paid less than $1700.

Can anyone help me determine if the price we paid is in the ballpark or suggest a way we might be able to lower the price. We have to have a monorail resort as DH is paralyzed and DDP stays as we have the equilivalent of 18 TS meals booked (mostly character).

I can't help you with the prices right now as unfortunately we are not (sniff sniff ) going at this time, but a couple of questions answered may help others who could help you.
1) Is the friend also staying at the Poly, or are they perhaps in a value or moderate hotel.

and 2) you didn't listed what price you are paying.

You didn't actually say how much you're paying so it's difficult for anybody to determine if you're paying too much or not.

For a Poly GV for your dates with the things you've specified, I'm coming up with a price of $3172.63.

For the price your friend is telling you, she must be staying at a value resort. There's a HUGE difference in price between a value and a deluxe.

$3685.09 is our price and yes the friend is staying at a value. Yikes what a difference.

Contact Disney (or your TA if you're using a TA) to get the current room discount rate applied to your reservation. I used this special offer to get your quote. There was availability for a GV room at the time.

FYI - I quoted without insurance. If you had insurance then you will end up with a higher price, but still lower than what you're currently paying.

It seems like you already have the discount code applied to your package. The big difference between your stay & your friends, is you are doing the deluxe dining plan which will add around $1000 to your total.

Have you considered the Contemp.? I put in your info based on the special offer and came up with $3003.19 for a garden wing rm. Still on the monorail.

Thank you so much clan. I emailed her. I hate that Disney will not talk to me EVER because I booked through a TA. I am sending fairdy dust your way for your kindness in researching this for me. :) :wizard: (Close as I could get)

Thanks PB's Mom. We are considering switching to the Contemporary.

That is a downside to some when booking through a TA.
The TA is who owns the reservation.
In theory the traveler is suppose to have the TA earn their commission. Instead of the TA earn their commission and then Disney still has to work with the guest also.

I would also suggest dropping the Deluxe Dining Plan and go with the regular Dining Plan. 3 table service a day is going to be way too much food and it will take up a lot of park time. One way to do the Deluxe Plan is to do a table service breakfast or even a counter service one, and do a signature dining experience for dinner (2 credits). Even though you're going Deluxe you don't have to do all table service. Some of Disney's counter service meals are really good and not on the cheap side.

When did you book your vacation? Those dates are during the free dining promo were you not able to take advantage of the promo? Your friend may have gotten in on the free dining which may have even made their package cheaper. I agree with the other posters who said to drop the Deluxe Dining plan. You are only in the parks for 6 days and 18 table service meals is A LOT of food and an incredible amount of time to spend in the restaurants - that could take up to 6 hours a day out of your touring when you take into account your traveling time to the restaurant, your check-in and wait time and then the actual meal. Of course, I think they will charge you some sort of fee if you try to make any changes to your reservations at this point, because you are past your 45 day mark. I think the change is only about $50.00, but you would still save a considerable amount by changing from the Deluxe to the Basic DDP, which we have always found to have more than an adequate amount of food.

Thanks all! I may very well change. With the room discount we saved $68 so we are now not getting the free dining. Wish I had a PIN code!!!!!! :)

Actually I was just trying to figure out the best option for you again. If you go with the free basic dining plan (6TS) it would cost you $190 over the package with just room & tickets but you would have dining included for the week.

Package with free basic dining plan: $2841
Package with room & tickets: $2651
