I'm sad to say I think I've finally been priced out of staying onsite. It's a combination of things - the price of tickets and APs; character dining; show dining; merchandise and even regular food... in order to be able to continue taking my granddaughter (and my grandson once he's old enough), I have to make some compromises, and giving up the GCH and DLH is the first step. Staying offsite is 1/3 the cost. It just makes sense. But it does break my heart a little.

We were priced out of staying on-site many years ago. It's not that we can't afford it, it's just not worth it to us.
Frankly, the other local hotels revolve around Disney and staying at them is just as much part of the whole DLR experience now as it was staying at the DLR hotels. And I like their proximity and breakfasts better.
When it comes to food and snacks, we only get to the parks once a year so we don't really pay much attention to those prices.

Used to love Tigger Tails until they changed them

It was actually probably a couple years ago. It used to be that they dipped them in orange colored and flavored white chocolate and then did the stripes with the chocolate. I loved the combination of the orange, chocolate, marshmellow and caramel. So good together. Now It is white chocolate covered in orange colored sugar crystals. I don't lie the rough feeling of the sugar and I miss the orange flavor. I've only had one once since the change and never bothered again.

It pained me deeply to pay 6.99 for ONE slice of cheese pizza at the Boardwalk Pizza in DCA yesterday. Then got really mad when it was one of the worse pieces of pizza I have ever had.

Yeah, that pizza's terrible. I have ordered a kids pizza and just swapped a spaghetti plate with my young daughter who loves "Minnie mouse" spaghetti better anyway.

I'm kinda torn about getting the kids meals tbh. On one hand, the rule gives an age range, but on the other hand it's such a better value.

I'm actually kinda curious what others think about adults purchasing kids' meals. I'm not sure if this should be a new topic or part of this larger discussion.

I would not worry about buying a kids meal for an adult. Perhaps at one of the posher table service restaurants but not at a counter service.

My adult son has some disabilities and is very small in stature. He not only can't eat a large adult meal, he would rather have the kids stuff.
We get kids meals for him all the time at DLR and WDW and it's never questioned.
