Price increases soon?

The discussion seems to be only recognizing the initial purchase price. The annual dues will amount to a lot more $$ over the life of a purchase. To me, and I don't particularly like contemporary decor, BLT is the best long-term deal, except maybe VGC. We decided on BLT over AKV based on long term reasons.

The location will most likely always command a premium over the other locations, and I understand its not everyone's cup of tea.

Supply and demand rules again. It will be interesting to see if sales support a $120 base price.

BTW, wait until Hawaii comes along. I have a feeling it will make $120 look cheap, or be so many points per night that the total cost will far excedd all the others.

I was offered BLT last week for $94/pt (112-13-5) that was due to end on Tuesday and then received a phone call that it was extended until Saturday (Aug 29th). If they are going to increase to $120 as suggested, they must have sold a boat load during that promotion.

I tend to agree. I'm not sure how it could be otherwise. If you look at the best timeshares in Hawaii -- like the Westin or the new Maui towers -- developer prices are well into the 30k and 40k range for 1 BRs. I just don't see disney significantly underpricing, and dues are quite expensive too.

My guess is that whether it's by massive points charts or price per point, or some combination, you'll be looking in the neighborhood of $40k+ for one week in a 1BR. My guess is that it will mostly be by higher points, so I'm anticipating 400 points or a bit more for a weekly 1 BR. This would be more commensurate with high maintenance fees in Hawaii anyway, because even a relatively low dues per point ends up significant if you're looking at 400 points for a week. I would also guess that the weekend/weekday disparity you see at WDW properties will be smoothed out a bit at Ko Olina.

If that's the case? No Hawaii for me!! DH doesn't care for Hawaii. It's a long flight and we can go to the Caribbean or Costa Rica in a fraction of the time.

I wanted to buy a little VGC and a little Hawaii...but ??? DH will go for Cali though....hmmmm. We'll just have to wait and see.
