Just wondering. Has Disney ever increased the price of your package after you have received confirmation but before you have paid it off in full. I was reading the terms and conditions and they apparently can. Just wondering if the ever do or have done this.

if you are talking 2011 - no they generally won't increase

2012 - think the new prices are already out - so you should be fine - if they are not they will increase when the new rates are annouced.

No, I've never had the price go up after I've had a confirmation and paid my deposit. :goodvibes

I could be wrong, but I'd assume even if the price did increase after you've already booked the package, that you'd be grandfathered in to that price.

The clause that you are referring to is only invoked due to errors. Disney doesn't increase your already booked package just because room or ticket rates increase. If due to a computer error you booked a five night stay for lets say $10 Disney reserves the right to correct the price.

The only time I ever saw this happen was when the resort tax increased. If you made a modification to your package after that change, they applied the tax increase. If you made no changes, I don't think they made you pay any extra....this was a few years ago.

all we had paid was the deposit lat January when i booked this trip and the prices went up and all they charged me at 45 days was what I had to begin with.:thumbsup2 guess they could increase it but they never so I happy:yay:

Thanks so much for the info. I haven't ever seen that clause in a hotel booking before. I assumed once you have a confirmation the details on the confirmation are golden. You've put my mind to rest.

Here's the secret to that - so long as your check in date is on or before December 31, 2011, both for new bookings and existing bookings - even now that ticketing prices have increased - you will still pay the former 2011 rates for resort, dining AND ticketing. :thumbsup2

Even if the clause in question was vague enough to allow Disney to increase their prices after you paid your deposit, it certainly would not be in their best interest to engage in such a practice.

Disney is operating in one of the most problematic economies since the great depression. Disposable income for most families has declined drastically, so the budgets of many families are really being tested.

IMHO employing a "bait and switch" pricing tactic in this environment would do more harm than good.
