Am I crazy or what? Just did a comparison on the values, and found that Pop is about $100 cheaper than All STar Movies? Did a 7 day stay, 8 day hopper w/dining from Dec. 2-9 2006

was ASMo coming up with preferred room? --that's $10 pn extra plus POP is 1% or so less in taxes

I don't know the specifics...but, I believe the All Star Resorts are located in a different county than Pop Century.

I think (not sure) that you pay 12.5% tax at Pop Century vs 13% at the All Star Resorts.

I'm not sure how this works when booking a package....ie, do you get taxed 13% on the entire package at All Star compared to 12.5% at Pop?

I may be off on the %'s as well...All Star might be more than 13%....but, I do know they have different tax %'s. That should make up some of the difference.

Also...make sure that they are not trying to put you in a preferred room at All Stars vs a standard room at Pop Century. The Disney website is kinda funny about that. Sometimes it shows me preferred room first with the option to downgrade...and sometimes it shows me standard room first with the option to upgrade.

Hope this helps....

I believe it might be the taxes. Correct me if Im wrong, but POP is in another area than the All-Stars right? Taxes in that area are at a lesser percent if Im not mistaken.

Thanks for the info! The $100 isn't a big deal in the grand scheme of things, just thought it was strange since they both quote the same room rates! Now to choose which ones. Is it true that Pop has it's own bus?

Exactly...the resorts are in different counties.

'Movies might have been sold out of the standard rooms for one or more of the nights you proposed, so you were quoted the rate for the preferred rooms (buildings) for the entire stay. Seven nights at $10., plus tax, for the added cost of a preferred room is roughly $100.

Pop has their own bus, which we never had to wait more than 15 minutes for the whole time we were there.
