From what I understand, Disney will not "sponsor" the panda holding thing due to animal rights concerns. But apparently you'll still be given the opportunity to do so for an extra fee (about $200). I also hear that it's amazing.

That is correct--Disney won't take an active role, but I'm talking about something else. Apparently there was a death of a panda (not at the place Disney visits) that has put a moratorium on the holding at that place as well as the place Disney visits. There is no word yet on when it will be lifted.
 
It is not sponsored by Disney as holding a "wild animal" is not liability. But that being said it was the best money I spent at the time $125.

Wow, $125 is great. I think it was way more expensive before they put the moratorium on--I want to say in the $300+ range.
