Preventing Line Boredom

Where do you find all your exotic bubbles at???

Okay who is giving away my bubble secret? :rotfl2:

I am known in my family as the official bubble person. I always have several bottles of bubble juice on me and everyone depends on me for the entertainment!

I have little bubbles, colorful bubbles, bubbles that taste like candy and even bubbles that get hard and you can catch them. It is so much fun to watch people interact with bubbles and try to figure out where they came from!

Disney is the perfect place for them because people who do not see me blow them think it is just all a part of the Magic! ::yes::

We took a Pay Mickey this year and when we had to wait for ADR tables we would play games on him.

there have been lots of post about people having problems with bubbles. People have posted about having their clothes ruined and having reactions to them landing on their skin. While they maybe ok if you are in an open area, in small closed areas they can really create problems.

My dad, sister and I usually play slaps. haha. its quite fun to see other people watch and then start to play the game also. during our last trip my dad, sister and I also started to play, "I'm thinking of a random number between 1 and 1000"

You could buy some of those small lightweight cheap puzzle books (both kids and adult ones) that have crosswords, word hunts, logic puzzles etc. They keep you occupied and your brain working for hours!

Another idea is to load up your cellphone with some games (hopefully you can choose a silent mode so you don't drive other people crazy!) :headache:

Also, if it's a line you are allowed to eat in, use the time to eat some food. You save touring time by not having to stop and eat somewhere later.

A pack of cards might be a bit awkward to use in a line situation, but it's great to have while you are waiting for a parade to start. :hyper:

I love to look all around me at the queue lines, alot of attention goes into them.

We have the hidden Mickey book, play I Spy, but have since discovered the 20 Question Ball. It is so much fun & super small & lightweight- perfect for backpack or fanny pack. It keeps my kids occupied for a long time!

Happy travels,

Isn't the 20 question ball amazing! It is pretty hard to stump it. We will probably take it along when we go in August. We also do I Spy too.

To the pp who mentioned gameboys. Nope you are not alone. They keep my boys from getting into it with each other and allow me to occupy dd2. :flower:

Am I the only crazy mother that took their Gameboys with us ? They fit perfectly in my little backpack and when a line was too long we'd get them out and they would play for a few minutes.

Otherwise, the bubbles worked for us when they were little. (age 2-5)

Also, perfect time to practice math facts with DS. (he doesn't think so, but mom does)

No you are not the only one.It was especially useful while waiting for Fantasmic.we also love the 20 question ball-especially my DH. :)

20-question ball is a great idea. Will have to dig that out for this next trip.

We have a Hidden Mickey contest every day.

Before we leave I stock up on small prizes from the Disney Store, the Dollar Store and DisneyDeals when they have good stuff.

Then I buy Disney Stickers. For every Hidden Mickey you find, you get a sticker. At the end of the day whoever has the most stickers gets to pick a prize.

This is a great activity because it makes everyone examine all the great details that Disney builds into the attractions.

I do have the book with me at all times to be the deciding "judge" though...you'd be surprised at what the kids will try to convince you is a Hidden Mickey...lol

Oh, I should add that our group on our August trip ranged in ages 10 - 46, and everyone got involved in this and had a great time.

Fabulous! I LOVE this idea! :worship:

I stand in line patiently waiting my turn.

BS!!! Like all other dads, I'm checking out the girls/ladies!

Any father that says otherwise is full of it.

BTW, we check out all those princesses too.

:earsboy: :earsboy: ::yes:: ::yes::

Keep in mind the book is not a complete source ... your kids may actually have found something. I've seen several that are not listed, but have been confirmed to me, for example, by talking to the CMs that work that attraction.

We also love the 20 question ball. Also, DS 6 and I will have thumb wars. If I beat him he swears I cheat!!

Okay so we now know what you do to keep occupied in line, but what the heck do you do to prefent your feet from dyeing! That was my biggest complaint about waiting in line. If I could sit I could wait an hour, but standing YIKES! Walking I'm fine, it's just the standing that kills. I switched shoes, and tried everything!
