Pretzel Bread at Le Cellier

Haven't seen it yet. But a friend of mine worked in Disney on the Internship and she said you can ask the chef for the recipe. A lot of the times they'll give it to you. ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

I asked our waitress for the cheddar cheese soup recipe at Le Cellier and she said the receptioinst could give it to me. I forgot to ask on my way out! I'm returning in June.....I'll ask for both then, but hope I find them sooner! :)

Well here's the cheddar cheese soup recipe. I made it a couple weeks ago and it was really great!

No idea on where to get the pretzel one though. :(

CCS on AllEars

Ingredients:

1/2 lb bacon cut into 1/2 in. pieces
3 celery ribs cut into 1/4 in pieces
3 cups milk
1 medium red onion cut into 1/4 in. pieces
2 tbsp butter
3 cups water
3 dashes tabasco
1 cup flour
1/2 cup beer
3/4 lb. grated white cheddar cheese
salt and pepper to taste

Method:

In a soup pot, start to brown the bacon over medium heat. When the bacon is starting to get crisp, add the onions, celery and butter. Cook until the onion is translucent.

Add the flour and incorporate with the butter. Cook for 4 minutes, constantly stirring.

Add the water and whisk. Make sure there are no lumps.

Bring to a boil then reduce to a simmer and cook for 15 minutes, stir every couple of minutes.

Add the milk and continue to simmer for 15 minutes. Do not boil after you add the milk.

After the last 15 minutes, turn off the heat and stir in the cheese then the beer. Add the tabasco and season with salt and pepper. If the soup is too thick you can thin it out with some milk.

Serve with your favorite bread and top with some chopped scallions or chives.

Thanks for posting the recipe Vettechick99 !

I love this soup! Can't have it now as I am dieting but I will definately make it for a special occasion for DH and I too enjoy! :sunny:

What's the pretzel bread like? Is it like a soft pretzel, like the kind at Auntie Anne's in the mall? I can't wait to have some in May!!! :flower:

When we were there in Jan. I filled out a card for them to send me the receipe. They said it might take awhile. If and when I get it I will go ahead and post it. Made the soup today, yummy. Wish I had the pretzel bread to go with it.

The pretzel bread comes in frozen. I only know this because I'm allergic to tree nuts, and the chef said that the box indicated it was made on the same line as items containing nuts.

It's kind of like a breadstick, but soft. They're extremely good and even better if you dip them in the cheese soup mentioned above.

If I could find that recipe I would make the pretzel bread and cheese soup every night.

Thanks for the cheddar soup recipe. Now all I need is the pretzel bread. Is anyone going to Le Cellier soon and could ask for the recipe? Thanks.

If you email Disney through their website, they'll email the recipe back to you. At least they did for the smoothie at CRT. You might check allearsnet.com for the recipe, she has some of them posted there as well.

They do not make the pretzel bread there. The waitress told me it is about the only thing they bring in.

Anyone know where the pretzel bread comes from since the boards seem to think it is frozen?
