Pretty soon there will be nobody left to buy Rodan and Fields

Because everyone is selling it!

My Facebook feed is nothing but people selling Rodan and Fields. And I am not impressed when I see them in person. They have the same wrinkles and fine lines as I do.

But it almost seems like a cult the way these sales people worship this product. And the before and after pictures seem so fake. Especially the ones that claim they finally got rid of their freckles. Why would you want to get rid of freckles? You have had them since 1st grade. Oh, and by the way, I just saw someone last week that claimed to have no more freckles. The freckles are still there (and that's a good thing). I almost called her out on it, but she is very nice. Although, I had to walk away from her due to her talk of a great deal going on at "R&F".

Am I the only one who has a multitude of people pushing this skin care line?
It's so uncomfortable. I just ignore the posts on FB and acknowledge their other posts. I certainly don't want to avoid my friends who sell it, but sometimes it's just awkward. I use high-end luxury skincare products that actually do work. I don't have wrinkles except for that one line between my eyebrows. Those selling R&F do have wrinkles, and they are younger than me lol.

Ok trying to figure out why people buy this crap. I am 57, moisturize but I earned all my wrinkles. I do like my makeup but not gonna spend huge amounts of money on crap.
Thankfully I have a DH who loves me for what I actually look like. I also love my freckles being Irish had them since birth.

I had to google to see what Rodan and Fields was. Does that tell you how many people I know who sell it?? :rotfl2:

Of course I'm one of those weirdos who has not worn any makeup in years, and I don't own any 'skin care products' except a tube of apricot scrub that I wash my face with.

Oh I love apricot scrub...apparently I am with you. I thought maybe it was an essential oil business.

I have a really good friend that is into Essential Oils also Scentsy Candles. Every time I see her, She tells me how I need to get involved. She needs people under her to boost her numbers and win the 3 day Carnival Cruise. Last cruise Kelly Clarkson came on board and gave them a private concert. My friend is so brainwashed, she cannot See that it is nothing but a ponzie scheme. But when I say it, she has all the right quotes explaining how it isn’t.

There is a site called Pink Truth or something like that, which is devoted to exposing MLMs, particularly Mary Kay, for what they are.

I have far too many friends that sell all that junk. Spark/advocare seems big among nurses, plexus, keto, Younique, rodan and fields....its all snake oil junk I.M.O.

Not R&F but I've got family members who are on the Nerium train.

OMG, I was getting on a plane last year and the lady in front of me in line to board had just come from a Nerium conference, and she was trying to sell me product in line for boarding, it was ridiculous! Thankfully my seat was nowhere near hers.

I have never heard of Rodan and Fields and for that I am happy.

I get annoyed with all MLM selling. My sister in law sells and I've tried the products. Most of them are just like any drugstore brand products, but I will say the R&F lash boost product is unbelievable. It seriously grows lashes like crazy. It's legit. Of course, at $120 it better be.
A much cheaper way to grow lashes is made by Boots#7. It is called lash serum and is sold at Walgreens for ~$9.90. This stuff really works but I don’t know if it works as fast as the R&F product. At that price difference you can buy a lot of the #7. My science minded daughter read the ingredients and says for the most part it is a steriod.

A lot of people on my newsfeed post about R&F. The trips, gifts and cars they give some of their salespeople tells me that their products are grossly overpriced. Their products cost too much if they produce that much profit.

A few of my Facebook friends are really obnoxious with selling things. Rodan & Fields, essential oils, Lipsence, Arbonne and Norwex are big ones. The worst part is I’ve had good friends PM me and ask me things like, “What are you using to clean your house?” Or, “Are you finding all natural ways to help your family stay healthy during flu season?” Omg, leave me alone!

I’ve never expressed any interest in these products, but they add me to groups and ask me to have parties. The only thing it’s going to do is make me not want to be their friend anymore.

It seems like people who sell MLM products shake down their friends and family until they can’t take it anymore, and then it fizzles and the sellers are out a lot of money. I know many, many people who start these “businesses,” but I don’t know anyone who has been successful.

My niece sells R&F, advertises on Facebook (ad nauseum) and has bragged that she's able to retire from teaching because of it. I have no idea how much R&F she's actually selling, but she's really tired of grading school papers and putting up with obnoxious students. Plus her DH has a good job.

R&F doesn’t bother me so much as the diet supplements do. I think it should be illegal for people to pedal these shakes and supplements that are “all natural” and “made from premium ingredients.” Want to know why Thrive makes you feel energetic and pain-free? It is full of caffeine and white willow bark, a natural aspirin. Shakeology might be great for your waistline, but it can be dangerous if your kidneys aren’t fully healthy.

I feel the same way - except for when I look at myself in a mirror with my head in a downward position, and the basset hound saggies kick in, LOL! But that's a facelift correction. No cream in a jar is going to take care of my saggies :) Going to always keep my crow's feet, as my youngest calls them my "stars".

I've never even heard of it. I guess maybe some of my friends might be into it since I unfollowed several of them who were bombarding me with Plexus and essential oils posts.

Also, not to mention it’s the end of winter, of course their freckles lightened up.

My FB feed at one point seemed to only be R&F, Younique, Mary Kay, Shakeology, Essential Oils, Pampered Chef...I ended up unfriending them.

Well now I totally understand what people mean when they tell me I'm missing out on everything by not participating in Facebook. That's clearly so true.

I have hidden many people on facebook for selling MLM products.

I had a woman I used to know from the gym contact me to "have coffee and catch up". I knew exactly what her plan was. No thank you.

That's the worst! When someone I have never socialized with or it's been a long time and they suddenly want to get together. I typically just ignore the invites because my policy is to ignore the posts so I won't respond at all. One acquaintance was recently so pushy she texted a mutual friend because I hadn't responded to her party "invitation." I'm sorry but inviting a couple 100 FB contacts to your "party" isn't a real invitation to me and we aren't even close enough for you to have my number but no I'm not coming so that you can push Mary Kay on me.

I know my friend that does WildTree went to a Facebook timeout for 1 week. She is being told she is being watched. I wonder if Facebook is cracking down on people trying to advertise their business.

That's interesting! So if we all started reporting their posts maybe FB would slow it down? It makes sense. I use FB less because so much of it is this annoying crap. The people pushing products post multiple times a day.

OMG, I was getting on a plane last year and the lady in front of me in line to board had just come from a Nerium conference, and she was trying to sell me product in line for boarding, it was ridiculous! Thankfully my seat was nowhere near hers.

I was at a Keith Urban concert last year. We were in the standing room pit area so had to arrive early. We made small talk with a group next to ours and at the end of the night, one of the women gave me her card and a little sample pack of R&F. She's handing it to me and I'm looking at her like, WTH?

It seems like people who sell MLM products shake down their friends and family until they can’t take it anymore, and then it fizzles and the sellers are out a lot of money. I know many, many people who start these “businesses,” but I don’t know anyone who has been successful.

That's the MLM business model in a nutshell. I'm currently being bugged by people selling everything previously listed. I leave the groups they add me to and use FB less and less because of it.

R&F doesn’t bother me so much as the diet supplements do. I think it should be illegal for people to pedal these shakes and supplements that are “all natural” and “made from premium ingredients.” Want to know why Thrive makes you feel energetic and pain-free? Right, these products are beyond annoying and cross over to possibly dangerous. I wouldn't ingest something based on a random FB friend. I jokingly said to DH last week- "If these 'IT Works', Advocare, Xingulair, Herbalife people don't reach their goal weight soon, I'm going to be a doubter.":sad2: They seem to look the same yet post about losing "5 pounds in 3 days" constantly.

I use grapefruit scrub myself, lol
