Countdown.....One week to go.
Oh my god, its arrived. SDD,one week to go, we have waited eleven years to return to the greatest place on earth. Our little adventure is about to begin.
Here goes, introductions etc...
Prue, 39 (28 from now on), 5ft 2and 1/2, a little bit of a control freak ( a cough is due about now), SO excited that I have to try and write a trippie, starting before I even go on holiday!
John, DH46, full head of hair, the best hubby and dad there is, puts up with me.
Izy, DD12, has the best of both of us. Is just taller than me and loving it!
The adventure began in March this year, instead of going somewhere in France (again...) we decided that the longhaul journey has got to be made and DD has a two week half term in October so we decide to book our flights.
Couldnt get flights with Virgin to Orlando on the dates we wanted as they were booked already, this was in March (!!!), so decided to go to Miami, sit on the beach for a couple of days and then drive up to Disney. We stayed on site at Dixie Landings (now POR) in 1994 and at the Grosvenor Resort (in 1989 for our honeymoon) so we decided to return to POR.
So here we are, a week to go, packing has just begun, I am nervous about the flight and will probably kiss the tarmac (as the Pope likes to do) on arrival, then panic that my fingerprint will somehow be the same as someone on 'Americas Most Wanted' and I will end up being dragged away by the FBI as my underwire bra keeps setting the beepers off. And that's before I have even started queueing, which of course we will be spending two weeks perfecting.
What I really cant wait to see and feel when we arrive, is that HEAT, when you go outside for the first time when you arrive and it hits you and you know you are back. I never forget that moment.
So I thank you all for six months of this forum, the help, the trippies, the questions, the answers, the dreams. Ours hopefully has nearly arrived, I am so excited about our litte adventure and cant wait to share it with you all.
