Please note that both of those sites have not been updated in more than a year (still listing 2002 and 100 Years of Magic quarters) but they should give you some idea on what to expect and where to look.
is there some place you can go in WDW that has the complete lists. When I check into the resort can we get it at the resort or do one of the parks have it.
At one of the gift shops in Epcot they printed out a list of all machine locations and the pennies available at each machine. We just told the CM we were excited because they had one of the country pennies that wasn't located in that particular country and we thought we wouldn't be able to get that one - sorry can't remember which ones or which shop. It was quite a list and we didn't do much more than glance through it but we probably should have saved it - oh well.
I picked up a roll of quarters at the bank yesterday. DS "cleaned" his pennies last week. It is a fun activity, but we prefer to just catch the machines as we go about our day. No stress, just a happy surprise when we find one.
Originally posted by JadeTiger I can't find the thread, but I read that you needed pennies that were dated before a certain year to make the best pennies.
Two questions
1) what date should the pennies be dated before?
The pennies should pre 1983 - I make sure they are '81 or earlier just being safe. The 1983 and newer have some zink or other compound that streaks when you press them.
Also I clean them with a auto strenth polishing compound by just rubbing them out as this shines them very nice and does not put pits in them like if you do a chemical cleaning. If you want to keep them shiny you can spray a coat of sprayable clear finish on them.
You're gonna think I'm crazy but if you get Taco Sauce from Taco Bell, it will clean any coin & make it look brand new. Just soak the coins in Taco sauce for a few minutes & voila, new coins. Makes you wonder what it does to your stomach.

Basicly, soak your pennies in a solution of Table Salt and Vinagar, for about ten seconds. Then, remove and rinse under tap water (they will turn blue-green if not rinsed).
What are the chances of putting together an updated list with information from people who are coming back from their trips? If you've recently come back with pressed pennies or quarters, and can remember where you were for which press, please post. Even if some of them duplicate the listings on the above links, it would be helpful!
The Squished penny museum has some really interesting information on the difference between the pre-1982 imprints and those made with newer coins:
And my favorite tip: use M&M Minis containers, layering a cleaned penny between two quarters, filling the tube up. You will be able to pop out your clean, shiny pre-1982 penny and the two quarters needed to squish it without fumbling around!
