Sorry if this is not the right place to post this but I have another pressed penny question. I've been reading that pennies that are pre 1982 are the best ones to use but has anyone tried using brand new shiny pennies? How do these come out? Just curious. Thanks.

They're not solid copper, so they may come out streaked from the other metals in them.

Newer zinc pennies are shinier but they rust a lot faster and easier than the older pre-1982 copper pennies. You have to decide if longevity or shininess is more important. Also, as said before the newer zinc pennies can be streaked due to the layering of the metals.
