Are there pressed quarters or pennies on the Cruise?

I have been collecting them from the World and Want DCL ones too.

Thanks

I collect these, too, and yes they have them on the ship. I can't remember where exactly but I know I have a pressed quarter with the DCL logo.

From what has been posted on the board, they removed the machines because nobody carries cash on the ships!

We looked all over the ship and asked several CM's about pressed penny machines on our 8/25 cruise. Nobody knew of any machines and we could not find any.

I do think the issue is that nobody carries cash on board - I know we never did.

I wonder if I got mine at the port? Or maybe I should check to make sure I know what I'm talking about! I'm pretty sure I do though!

Nope, you're not crazy - I've got a quarter marked 2000 Disney Cruise Line Sail in to the future hand in hand
Since our last cruise was in 1999, we must have gotten this at the parks somewhere as we're there often.

Deb Wills' site has a section on pressed pennies and quarters. She has this link http://www.liss.olm.net/ec/disney/wdw/ to a site that tracks the machine locations. I went through all of the areas of Disney parks and hotels, and couldn't find any related to DCL. :(

My husband & I took our first cruise June 2000. Four day to Nassau on the Wonder & at that time they did have quarter presses. We've since taken 2 more cruises, with daughter & her husband, on the Magic in 2001 to Eastern Carribean & this year, Magic to Western Carribean. To our disappointment (she collects pressed coins too) no quarter or penny press. That's silly that people don't carry cash on board so get rid of presses. We carry cash to go into the ports. Everybody carries change!! Are we the only ones?

On our cruise back in December 1999 I got a pressed coin. It was a quarter dated 1999 with Mickey at the ship's helm. I think the machine was on deck 4 near the aft elevator lobby. I remember not having any change and having to go back to the machine later. Hopefully the machine isn't gone. I'll have to check when I go there in October. Patty :earsgirl:

I thought we were the only ones that got a little excited about pressed coins. We went crazy at WDW and collected about 15. Each time we acquired a coin, an amazing memory went with it. They were true treasures to DS5 and he carried them around in a baggie for a couple months after our cruise.

Well, at some point, I couldn't find them. I TOTALLY panicked. I looked everywhere and searched constantly. DH kept telling me they would show up eventually, but I kept looking.

Well, about a month ago, I walk in the door after work and DS5 is jumping up and down about something he found. . . .you guessed it, he found those pennies in a place I never would have suspected.

Whew, what a relief.:p :p :p I just had to share.

In 1997, prior to the inaugural sailing of the Magic, there was a DCL pressed coin (I'm pretty sure it was a quarter one) machine in the MK at WDW. It was on Main St., near the park entrance. The machine had an "out of order" sign on it, but I noticed it was plugged in so I gave it a try and it worked just fine! That's how I got my DCL coin :)

Oh yeah, there was a DCL pressed quarter machine at the MK. I remember that!

My wife gets excited about pressed penneis, quarters, or whatever othered kind of pressed thingies that may come up in the future. :D
