Hi everyone,

I am very excited about planning my second trip to Disney.

I am trying to decide what 2 weeks to send in Florida. I want to try and avoid the crowds of Presidents Week, can anyone tell me when that will fall in Feb. In 2003 it was Feb 17th so it it busy before or after that day. Does President's day always fall on the 17th of Feb? Sorry for my ignorance.

Thanks

Kim

President's Day falls on February 16th in 2004. We usually travel to Florida that week but have always avoided Disney due to the fear of crowds. Anyone been there that week that could shed some light on how heavy the crowds are?

Our crew is headed to WDW on Feb. 13th next year, and will be there through the 19th. I've never been during that time of year, and was also concerned about the crowds during President's week. I posted a similar thread a few weeks ago, and got some very encouraging responses and private messages. Most everyone tells me that with the exception of Sat, Sun, & Mon (which are crowded but not July/August crowded) the rest of the week following is not bad at all. If anyone else has opinions on this, please let us February travelers know!!!:D

We were there last year that week. We got in on Sunday and didn't do the parks (dinner at Park Fare with Cindi & EWP, etc.) than did MGM & Epcot on Monday. The crowds Monday were a little heavy but not bad (waits of 15-30 mintues). By Tuesday it was much emptier. Never walk on's but never not real long lines either.

We are going back same time next year so it obviously wasn't too bad:p The fact that we had 22" of snow while we sat in 70 degree weather may also have played into our attitude;)

Good luck
Sandy

Hi, we haven't actually been there for presidents day but a couple of years ago we came home on the Saturday befoer Presidents day on teh Monday. On our last full day, Friday, we went to MK and it was packed. we had been in Florida for a fortnight and every other day of our holiday the crowds had been really light but that day was a nightmare and we were told that it was because everyone was coming in for the weekend for Presidents Day - hope this helps

We always go in Feb. but make sure we are gone before the President's Day crowds arrive. Also until the Wed. before Pres Day the rates are at value season. We will arrive on 2/6 and check out on 2/11 --- unless they offer the some great package like FT and then we will arrive on 2/4.

The crowds during early Feb. usually do not exist. Fantasmic doesn't even fill. Most rides were walk on in 2003 and 2002. Our longest wait was 15 min. in Fantasyland in the middle of the afternoon.

The only draw back to this time of year is the weather. Some years we have done a water park other years we never even wore shorts. But its much warmer than home and the crowd level and rates make this a great time to visit.

If DD wasn't in school we would go the week that would end the Wed before President's day every year. We did that the first couple years and it was great! Value season - which means lower flight cost, lower room cost and virtually no lines. This past year we went arriving the day after President's day for one week. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but definitely was not as slow as early Feb and the deals weren't as good. In the four times we've gone in Feb, we've only had to skip the water parks for one year (but you do have to allow for the flexibility to do the water park on the warm day - not all days are warm enough) YOu could either go for the two weeks prior to Pres. Day weekend (and fly home on that weekend) or just plan to do something else (non park) Pres day weekend. I have heard that Fri, Sat, Sun and Mon (Especially Sat and Sun) can be brutal crowd wise. A few things to keep in mind - weekends, especially if the weather is nice are busier than weekdays during Feb, so I'd try to travel on sat or sun and leave midweek for parks and touring. Secondly, during early Feb the parks close early, and some things like spectromagic are only offered one day a week, so it takes a little more planning.

Thanks everyone, last time I was in Disney it was Feb 22 - March 1 and had no crowds at all but was thinking we were pretty lucky. So we decided not to tempt fate and go in October of 2003 instead. We are going from Oct 24 to Nov 10/2003 any place we should avoid what do you think the crowds will be like
