We are looking to plan a trip for 2017. It will be our third trip. We have to minimize days out of school so will be going either 2/21-2/27 (the Tues after Presidents' Day until the following Monday) or 4/18-4/24 (the Tuesday after Easter until the following Monday). The crowd calendars seem to be split as to which will be busier- does anyone have any thoughts?

Thanks so much!

Never been after Easter but Presidents Day Week is always when we do our annual family trip. I can tell you it is very busy compared to other times I've gone. This year we came the Thursday before Presidents Day and left the day after Presidents day for the first time. Previously we've going the day after Presidents Day to Sunday. We noticed this year it got more crowded each day, so if you can I'd recommend going a few days before presidents day! It's usually the Princess half marathon weekend and many schools give that week off so it just adds to the crowds. (But we've never tried to go another time of the year so it's not that bad!)

Thanks- we know it will be very busy either way, but just weren't sure if one was better than the other. Maybe we will look at doing Wed-Tues for whichever week. That would have them only missing two days of school, but would give us an extra day away from either holiday.

Both will be very busy, with President's Day week being slightly less busy. Also, I'm assuming that the weeks in February before and after that President's Day week will be a lot less crowded than the surrounding weeks in April.

We went President's Day week a few years ago. It was crowded, sometimes to the point where you had to shove your way through crowds because it was shoulder-to-shoulder people moving in both directions. We are experienced Disney-goers, and with proper planning we were able to utilize rope drop and FP and park hoppers to see/do everything we wanted to.

We have been 4 times during Easter (as kids got older, we needed to work our trips around school break, instead of pulling them out when we wanted). we usually fly in on a Thursday before Easter sunday and stay to following Friday. It is crowded, no doubt about it, but it was real crowded up to Easter Sunday, then it seems to thin out the week after. If you use EMH to your advantage, along with FPs and setting expectations for the big rides, I think you will be fine. the weather was good, so we always do a water park , along with lots of hotel swimming....enjoy !!

Having the same dilemma here. We're going to just do President's Week for the potentially cooler temps.

Same, here as well. Planning our 3rd trip and considering Easter 2017 to minimize time off from school. We went Thanksgiving this year & loved it; just won't be ready to go back by this November. Following along for opinions & experiences :) Good luck with whichever week you choose!

We are going Easter 2017. I've done Easter before and it is definitely busy. I'm actually considering doing universal Easter weekend because that just never seems as busy as Disney and my older kids want to go there anyway. School breaks are always busy. I do think I read Easter is always the second busiest after Christmas week. If we could go in February I would in a heartbeat. Our high school doesn't allow travel then.

We have done both, and found them to be pretty much the same to be honest.

easter for us! gorgeous weather and crowds totally doable. been doing april school vacation for many years in a row and never shoulder to shoulder anyof our park days!17-24 for us :)

President's Day is usually mobbed. Going after Easter would be dependent on when a majority of school's Spring Breaks are scheduled.

UGH! we are going that week since my niece is out of school the whole week. Figured it would be bad but not that bad :(

President's Day itself is BAD, and the Sunday before. The rest of the week, not so much. Most schools aren't off that week (A lot in northeast are)

What about getting there the Sunday AFTER Presidents Day, Feb. 26th until about March 6th? Does anyone have a guess at crowd levels then?

We're discussing going the day after Easter until the following Monday. I've been checking out a few of the larger school district calendars and they all have off the week leading up to the holiday because of Passover. My kids go to a Catholic school, so they have off the week after Easter.

Sounds like you're on the MA vacation schedule. Personally, I'd pick April so that the option to swim is there - Feb is too cold for that.

We love Easter week/before/after, the weather is perfect. You also have the Flower & Garden Festival-it's so nice to see flowers blooming after the long winter & feel the sun on your arms & maybe take a dip in the pool after wearing 3 layers of clothes for months on end. Also, around Easter there will be less chance of a snowstorm impacting your trip like it could during President's week. Good luck with your decision!

Oh ok thanks! It's the only time we can squeeze in this trip. We arrive on Saturday the 18th and leave the following Sunday so we have plenty of time!
