President Obama????

Simply because homosexuality isn't natural.

But that's not up for YOU to decide. :thumbsup2
If everything patti mentioned is in the bible, and it's g0d words then those things should be taken literally too.
If homosexuality is taken literally.

You can't pick and choose what is natural/literal in the bible, it all comes from 1 place obviously. If g0d put it in the bible and it was meant to be followed it should all be followed, a couple shouldnt be left out.

Utterly ridiculous that homosexuality isnt consider natural.
It's natural for them, thats all that should matter!

When it comes to taking the Bible literally I would say take it naturally; appreciate that some of the detail is meant to be taken literally but some of it is not meant to be.

I hate it when people do this.

I really do.

To me, it's a sign of weak faith.

You don't believe enough in the Bible to take it at it's word.

You don't think it's true if you aren't willing to follow through with everything in it.

But I'm just a heathen who follows her Bible completely. What do I know of faith? I'm not Christian.

Oh, please. I love Obama. Maybe I'll see him in hell too, cause ya know, I'm sure he stays up late and eats count chocula.

Wanda, there you go again. Picking and choosing what you want to believe in the bible. One minute you say 'the bible is fact', and the next minute you say only certain things are to be taken literally.

Everytime someone shows you something in the bible that you can't honestly agree with (ex, men being better than women, slavery, etc), your story changes.

And anyways, I thought God didn't want you to have an opinion about it.

lmao at the first part.

And that's what my comment meant, thank you for putting it into better words!

alright i guess how i put my statement wasn't the best way to put it.
wat i was saying is that like, if 2 teens dont use protection and the girl gets prego.. thats her fault. for rape, obvii thats terrible. but idk.. i just dont think that [god forbid] i got raped i would have an abortion. i mean, you can feel however you want about it but i just think its completely wrong. give the child a chance to live.
abortion is seriously like after you have your baby, you kill it. youre not giving it any chance to live or go far in this world. i mean, what if walt disney was aborted? non of us would even be talking about this right now. there would be no disney world, no mickey mouse. nothing. give the child a chance to live. thats all im saying.

I understand what your saying.
I don't think I could ever have an abortion, there's a lot of emotional pain attached. BUT, I do believe it's the woman's choice since it is her body. Not everyone's body is able to support a baby, especially a young girl.
However, I am completely against using abortion as a birth control method.

Woah.
Firstly. Obama seems like a decent guy to me. He seems to be doing everything he can to make his country better.
Secondly, you can't have a go at people (in this case, homosexuals) for simply being themselves!!
And Patti and Haz, ITA with what you both said.

“Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.” (Leviticus 18:22)

You do realize that most of the Bible was written by men who wrote horrible, nasty things about both gays and women because they were afraid of what they didn't know, right?

That's not true.
God wrote the bible through men.
2 Timothy 3:16, “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

“Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.” (Leviticus 18:22)

Leviticus 1:9 states that the smell of a burning bull is pleasing to the lord. Should we all burn male cattle?

Leviticus 25:44 states that slavery is legal, so long as your slaves come from neighboring countries.

Leviticus 10-16 says that anybody who takes the name of God in vain should be put to death. I've apparently escaped death inumberable times.

Leviticus 11:10 tells us not to eat shrimp because it's an abomination unto God.

Leviticus 19:19 forbids the wearing of garments of mixed fibers (ie: a cotton/polyester blend t-shirt).

Ecclesiastes 9:8 says that we should always wear white and anoint our heads with oil.

Deuteronomy 25:11-12. This one I need to quote directly. It's just too out there not to. "11 If two men are fighting and the wife of one of them comes to rescue her husband from his assailant, and she reaches out and seizes him by his private parts, 12 you shall cut off her hand. Show her no pity."

Numbers 5:11-20 dictates how to tell if your wife is cheating on you. Give her a mixture of water, barely, and dust. If her stomach swells, she's a cheater. In which case you should stone her and the man/woman you suspect her of cheating with. (according to Leviticus 20:10).

Exodus 21:5 says that if your slave is set free after 6 years and decides to stay, you should bore a hole in his ear.

1 Corinthians 11:6 says that if a woman doesn't cover her head she should cut off her hair.

Look, I can quote the Bible, too.

Also, I had a strong urge to type "SNORKLE" in response to this. Kudos to anybody who gets why!

This was written in a different time. It doesn't apply now. Alot of verses in the bible are metaphors and/or figures of speech. You have to be strong in your faith to be able to identify which ones are to be taken literally, and which are not.

Well then.

You can take Leviticus 18:22 literally and not be gay and I'll choose to interpret it very loosely and remain bi.

Maybe homosexuality doesnt apply now. :confused3
You can't pick and choose.

Or just clever enough to pick out the ones that support your argument and disregard the rest because even you can see their idiotic.
