President Obama????

I don't really hate him but I do not like how he suppots abortion and gay marriage.
And how his name sounds foreign.
America is stupid to put a foreign president in charge when thats who we've been fighting against.

my name sounds foreign, but i'm more american (native) than most people are. your name means nothing.

i love obama. i think he's what we've been needing, and so far, the majority of the voting people agree with me.

I do.

And I don't support a non-Christian president. I don't care what he does in the White House.

you have no proof, contrary to what your holier than thou attitude would suggest that obama is anything but a christian. you don't get to decide who gets into heaven and who doesn't, and you don't get to decide who is a good christian and who isn't. barack obama says he is a christian. barack obama goes to church. and that is enough proof for me to believe him.

He's my president so I respect him. I don't agree with a lot of his policies and I didn't vote for him but that doesn't matter because he's my president and I have to respect that.

Obama isn't actually FOR gay marriage. He may be in favor of civil unions but not gay marriage because of his Christian beliefs. I don't know where people get the idea that he's not a Christian after all this time???

It doesn't really matter if you like him or hate him, he IS the president. It isn't going to change because you don't like him

I love how the liberals attack the republicans, but you don't see the republicans calling out the liberals for every little thing.

Umm, what do you think this board is about? Gee, it's about Republicans bashing our liberal president! :confused3

I do not agree with his veiws especially abortion, and the like. I think that we need troops in iraq for a while still. but please don't think that I don't care about thet people over there because I do! I have a cousin there and two VERY close friends who are going soon. I do not like Obama but I am going to try my hardest to respect him even though I don't really want to. he is our presidnet and we need to support him. we need to pray for him, that he will make the right decisions. So, no. I don't like him. but I will respect and prey for him.

This thread is making me sad. We shouldn't vote a "foreign" president in? He isn't foreign! He was born here in the USA in Hawaii which IS a part of this country!

I don't get what his name has to do with it? The name John Smith is JUST as foreign sounding to someone in Africa as Barack Obama is here. Everyone's name is foreign sounding somewhere. His name isn't European so it's bad? I don't get that at all.

chisnpeke first of all, how can he be a christian if he supports abortion? christians strongly believe that abortion is wrong. (which is it).

second of all, he was not born on Hawaii, we arn't sure where he was born.

Im not saying he wont get to heaven, im saying that hes not in the right path.
but there IS still time for him to change, which i pray he does.

just because he goes to church and says is a christian, doesnt mean he is one. and supporting abortion plus gay marriageg definitely rules him out as a christian.

For me , it is an important component the religion that a president has. and that decides if i vote for him or not.

oh please, this board is 75% liberals.

(and don't think im attacking liberals, because most of my friends are huge obama fans)

i'm open minded.

this is true. people wouldn't vote for mitt romney because he was mormon.

:sad2:

All I got to say is he said no earmarks well guess what already popped up in his bills earmarks. Government spending will decrease, $805 billion later I dont see that happening. Getting out of the war right away ( i didnt agree with that in the first place) but thats not happening either.

Okay, I'm a Christian.
I don't "strongly believe that abortion is wrong."
I feel that it is up to the woman, and the situation.
I myself wouldn't have it done, however.

exactly that's what I'm trying to get across. you can't be a christian when you support Gay marriage, and abortion. and his veiw of being a christian could be different.

Another problem I have with Obama is his experience. He was a one term senate memeber THAT"S IT. No exectutive or foreign experience at all!!!!!!!!!

Lincoln had less experience, yet many people regard him as the greatest President this Nation has ever seen.

thats really scary. i agree with that too. hes a scary dude. and who can support a president who is FOR ABORTION??? thats just terrible. give the kid a chance to live. it was ur fault your prego in the first place. deal. abortion is totally wrong.

Yes, because rape victims chose to be raped. It's their fault the guy who did it was crazy. They should live with the reminder of that event for the rest of their lives as just punishment for making somebody force them to have sex. Oh, wait, I forgot, if it was their fault they got pregnant- THEY MUST HAVE WANTED THAT GUY TO FORCE HIMSELF ON THEM!

I do.

And I don't support a non-Christian president. I don't care what he does in the White House.

You are incredibly closed-minded. This is a diverse nation! If you can't support the decisions of anybody who is non-Christian, what do you think of Ghandi?

And what's your opinion on Martin Luther King, Jr.? He was a preacher, yet there is proof that he had several mistresses while he was married. Now if that's condoned by Christianity, I must have missed something.

No single religion is perfect, and neither is a single person. I think you're on a high horse with your nose stuck in the air. I think Shelby said this a while ago, but I hope you don't drown the next time it rains.

And from the way you're talking, I'm going to suggest you move to Vatican City. You seem like you'd fit in perfectly there.

I love how the liberals attack the republicans, but you don't see the republicans calling out the liberals for every little thing.

Oh, republicans call out the liberals on a ton of things. On supporting the stimulus package, on supporting gay marriage, on supporting civil equality, on raising minimum wage. It goes on.

As for what I think of Obama. I'm for him. I think he's exactly what this country needed. He's a president who can unite the people of this country (OK, he can't unite the ignorant) with his ideals. I have no major issue with him or his policies. I am upset that the troops won't be coming home from Iraq until later than originally planned, but I think he's still got a lot going for him. I'm iffy on how I feel about the stimulus package, but I support him on that one. I like his views on nuclear energy and alternative energy sources.

He's not perfect, he's not infallible, but he's what we've got and he's going to try and make this country a better place. That, and I love his White House staff (RAHM EMANUEL, FTW!!!). OK, that last bit was shallow and had no real meaning, but hey, I can have a sense of humour, can't I?

Okay, honestly, I'm NOT trying to start a religious thing.
But I'm a Christian and I fully support gay marraige. Love is love.

ok let me change that you can be a christian but I don't beleive that it is right to support abortion I mean it's murder. plain and simple. as soon as the woman conceives, the cell is alive.

He supports it because he believes in a woman's right to choose. Why do you get to dictate when Christians can and cannot believe? Aren't Christian's not supposed to judge? I personally am against abortion but it's going to happen anyway so why not have a safe place for it to happen.

He WAS born in Hawaii. If he wasn't don't you think the Republicans would have found that out BEFORE the election to disqualify him?!

People amaze me sometimes.
