i completely disagree with anyone who thinks he's anything like a dictator. the only thing that someone could use to support that is that there are a lot of democrats in the house of reps and senate right now, but every one of them was voted in, fair and square.

I was waiting for someone to say that. He's done a lot but its not new things. The stimulus package is like what FDR did during the depressino and with the rest he's being like Bill Clinton. Yes he's done a lot, but its not new stuff.

there are changes, of course, but doesnt it make sense to reuse some past ideas, if they worked? thats just common sense.

The economic stiumulus, the housing plan, the stem cell reasearch bill being overturned, I think thats a lot to be done in 2 months. I actually think he's moving too fast. He should have put more thought into the stimulus package, we didn't get to where we are overnight and its not going to get better overnight. The stimulus plan is a lot of what FDR did during the depression and most historians agree that FDR actually prolonged the depression. Obama should learn from FDR's mistakes, not copy them.


My english teacher the other day was comparing Obama to a dictator (I dont agree with everything she said). She said a lot of ictators seized power by being simple and she said thats how Obama got into office. He used the simple word of change and everyone loved that about him.

About abortion: yeah, its the parents fault they got pregnant...most of the time. what about rape babies? do they have to live, possibly forcing the mother to think even more about rape? and if the parents want an abortion..well, in some cases thats really best. what about the mothers who dont want a baby, and if they had one, wouldnt take care of it, wouldnt love it, but would ruin its life? sometimes, abortion is way better.

No, you dont know that for sure. You may be positive, but you have absolutely no proof except for a book of stories that may or may not really be true.


and to not support him just because of his religion doesnt make sense. it just doesnt. if we had a christian who kept the war going, did nothing for the economy, destroyed america--even with a good intention, how could you say you would prefer that? i really doubt anyone could.

again, it could be with a good intention. the person could just be an idiot, and think not acting is the best way to handle things. you never know.

What about people who were raped? Was that their fault? No, it wasn't.
I personally this abortion is wrong, but it is the womans choice whether she wants to get an abortion or not.

As for Obama. I honestly don't know that much about his policies. From what I do know, I don't like many of them. BUT, he IS the President, and he deserves respect, and the opportunity to change peoples minds. It's been such a short time that he's been in office, let's give him a chance.

I don't see a lot of change that he's bringing us. He's following a lot of Bill Clinton's policies and I don't like that. Yes the country flourished under Clinton but Obama promised us change and I don't see it happening yet.


No the midle class doesn't need tax cuts BUT that was one of the reasons a lot of people I know voted for Obama.

As for Bush, I thought he was a good president and people are going to start to see that in years to come (not just because of Obama). The main reason he was so hated was because of the war and NCLB. The war would have never happened if CONGRESS didn't declare war, and there were democrats in congress at the time that voted for it. It wasn't just Bush's war.


Another problem I have with Obama is his experience. He was a one term senate memeber THAT"S IT. No exectutive or foreign experience at all!!!!!!!!!

I don't know if I like what Obama's doing so far. I have to wait for negative/positive results to decide.

People really did hate Bush!
I just can't see why, beyond his policies, and ideas.

But why did people not like him? Because he was a christian?

As for Obama.....he is ok. I haven't found that he is living up to what he said, back in the election. I was told the other day that his approval rating has dipped below 50%.

There are several reasons for why I didn't like Bush and not one was because he was a Christian. I wouldn't care if he was Christian, Muslim or even Buddhist. There is a long list of other reasons for why I didn't like him, but because I know that saying them here would just cause a fight with those who did and still do support him, I'm keeping them to myself. After all, does it really matter anymore? He's no longer responsible for running this country.

As for Obama, he's been our present for a little over a month. Give him a chance. I'm actually pleasantly surprised that he's already done so much in such a small amount of time-and completely agree with many of his ideas (I don't like him just because he's a 'celeb'). Sure, he's not perfect, but no one is. At least someone is finally doing SOMETHING, instead of keeping us in the same, never-ending circle we've been stuck in in the past several years.

Why does his religion matter so much? Our country was started as a melting pot, of diverse cultures and religions, and now everyone is forgetting that.

Also. Many promises were made before the whole economic crisis. After that, Obama changed his promises to make them more realistic for our current state. And yet, why are people still holding him to old promises that would've been carried out if not for the fact that we are now in an unstable economy? He told us priorities would need to change until the economy was on its feet, and he'strying to follow through on that.
