Prescription goggles, contacts and confusion

I was given present of swimming with a dolphin for my birthday and i can't wait but i am worried as to how to deal with being able to see.

Would it be wise to wear contacts, would the water get in under the goggles?
Is there a range of perscription goggles? Can you get them on the day of it?

You get goggles when you arrive to DC and they are quite good. But you don't wear them at the dolphin swim cause you wouldn't get your head under water. So contacts are no problem...
