I realize this will sound like a totally weird question (except to any mother with potty training kids) but....how are the potties at MK, MGM & the Contemporary? DS will be 4.5 and DD will be 2.5 when we go in December. I swear I am not bringing that stupid potty insert with us but DH keeps laughing and saying he is getting my picture with it in front of Cinderella's castle.

Are there little one friendly bathrooms? Any experience would be helpful.

I cannot even believe I am asking total strangers this bizarre question!!!

I don't know but if you don't want to bring it stop using it at home and get them used to a regular seat. I never used one with my kids so they were used to a reg. seat and all were trained by 2. The only problem is the self flushers can be intimidating till they get used to them. I can't imagine carrying anything extra around all day with all the other stuff you have to carry.

All the baby care centers in the parks have restrooms that are kid friendly. We try to stop by these throughout the day when possible and have found our kids like them better.

I agree with hannathy - stop using the insert now. My little guy just holds himself up or stands. I have a small pack of disinfecting wipes because he must touch the seat and will not let me hold him up so I give the seat a wipe before he gets on.

They make potty seats that you can buy that fold up..just be aware that pinching is a possibility though. I would recommend to stop using it now though, it will make life much easier. As far as the automatic flushers..you could carry some post it's and put it over the sensor to make sure it doesn't flush until your little one is ready.http://www.pottytrainingconcepts.com/Folding-Potty-Seats-c.html

When my DD was going through the potty training stage, she got FREAKED OUT by the automated toilets at DL. She thought they were going to flush her down the toilet  !! It was very difficult to get her to use public restrooms.

At the Baby Care Center at DL (not sure about WDW), they have toddler sized toilets that one manually flushes. She would only go there!

Good luck!

MomPlanner,

If you dont want to bring a potty insert here is something I found on Baby Center that might make it a little easier for you and the little ones. They would certainly be easier than carrying around a potty insert since they will most likely fit in a backpack or bag .

Hope this helps. Have fun.

I cant wait to see the pic of you and the potty seat in front of the castle!

Like everyone else already has said, take it away before you go.

My little on wiggles so much the seat covers are not a good idea for us right now. By December hope they will work for us.

Is there an age limit on using the baby care centers? I will have a four year old on our next trip. Is this still an option for us?

We've gone at times when both our girls were potty training but not "trained". My best advice is allow them to wear pull-ups for the trip but bring them to the bathroom and try to encourage them to go often, especially after a meal. The last thing you want is an "accident" in the middle of a line or on a ride. It's only for a week and it won't disrupt them that much i nthe grand scheme of things.

Our kids either held on to the seat or I held onto them. I know it's kinda gross for some but really get over the germ thing :goodvibes and just have them wash their hands afterwards.

My 2yo daughter potty trained about a month ago and we're going to DL on Saturday so we've been thinking about this too. At home she has a soft potty seat on the toilet, but I do not carry that or our fold up seat out with us so in restaurant/store bathrooms she has to just sit on the seat. We use those potty toppers that were posted in the link above (the adhesive disposable ones, not the reusable fold up kind) and they work well. Of course they don't make the seat any smaller so if that's what you're looking for they won't help, but my daughter just holds onto the seat and keeps herself up, so I like the potty toppers so I don't have to worry about her hands touching the dirty seat itself. And since they're adhesive they don't slide around like if you just used toilet paper to line the seat.

I 2nd the pull-ups. (just in case!) Plus, they have Disney characters on them :thumbsup2 My DS5 still wears them to bed to prevent accidents. We'll most likely put both our kids (DS5 and DD3) in pullups while we're at the park. Cause ya never know!
