I am trying to incorporate "playing school" into DS3 weekly routines since he will not be attending preschool this year. I thought it would be fun to do a weather chart each day and was wondering if anyone has ever made one? I am really just looking for some cute weather cards to place on a poster board calendar each day....I thought maybe one for sunny, cloudy, partly cloudy, thunderstorms (with lightning bolt), rainy, windy, snowing....is that it? :confused3 Anyway, I found some that may work when I just googled them but they aren't as cute as I was hoping so I thought someone on the boards might have something cuter! It doesn't have to be disney but we won't mind if it is :goodvibes Thanks for any help!

Here is one that I made for my little one. It is a weather chart that you can place on the refrigerator. Then you can use magnets to mark what the weather is like for that day. I know it isn't what you asked for...but would that work? We use several magnets...as there can be several types of weather in one day. If you do like it, make sure you save it as I clean out my photobucket weekly to make room for new requests.

Deleted the images to clear room in my photobucket. If you didn't save them send me a pm.

Thank you Dolly! I knew you would respond :goodvibes You always have the best ideas! That's not exactly what I had in mind but I think I can use it! Do you also do a daily calendar? I know you have a little one about the same age as mine and just wondering if you find a calendar too difficult right now. I am a former teacher but I had 2nd graders so not really sure what's appropriate for preschool!

A calendar is pretty advanced for 3 year olds, so I haven't worked on one yet. But my little one loves the weather chart!

At this age the main things they will know and/or be working on are:
colors
numbers
alphabet
shapes
matching
different
big/little, up/down, over/under, behind/in front of, on/off, etc
opposites
next to, between, through, left, right, etc
direction
sequence
many/few
weather
seasons
manipulatives (lacing activities, playing dress up, playing with a clock)
point, say and find
following directions
singing is really important as well

Hope that helps!

There is a a great Pre-K Kit that you can buy for Pre-K (age 4) called "Sing, Spell, Read & Write" from Pearson Education Inc.

Thanks! That's what I thought about the calendar too! I think we will start with the weather and maybe next year move onto the calendar. Thanks for all the information....I have found a lot of great stuff online but I will check out the preschool kit.
