We leave in a few days and my 2 year old will be spending two long days in the nursery while Mama is off ship... I don't want to get into the "should you/shouldn't you" of it, the reason we are doing DCL is so that we can go into Berlin and St Petersburg without the peanut.
I'm just looking for thoughts and suggestions on how others have dealt with this separation and what kind of things you bring with you to the nursery. I plan to bring a diaper bag with her pacifiers and favorite stuffed animal, plus some snack foods in case she doesn't like what they have to eat. I've heard from others they'll feed her though what other kids eat in the big club, which she should be happy with (unless of course she's being a toddler).
My biggest worry is that she doesn't do daycare or preschool, but she is extremely friendly and loves strangers. I think by the end of the day she will be very very happy to see mama, but I don't think she (I hope) that she'll be sitting around crying for mama all day, not when there are kids and toys to play with.
I'm also writing up a little sheet about her, translations of some of her common words and that sort of thing.
