Premium Plan for One Night Just for the Tours, LaNouba, etc.??

Ok who has done the Richard Petty Experience??? DD wants to do this and I'm not sure how long it takes. I know its one per package and thats great because I have no desire to do this but she wants to do it, so I need to know how long to schedule for it. HELP!!

~Nannette

Haven't done it but I have read to allow maybe 45 min to an hour maximum for the experience. You arrive, get briefed, load up in the car, take 3-5 really SPEEDY :scared1: laps (not positive how many, but the ride itself is relatively short) going around the track, then take pictures, etc. and leave. I believe you can call the RP Experience number and they will give you all the info you need. Have fun!

By the way, the course is very near the Poly & the Car Care Center.

That's true. We definitely want to experience the pool with DS too. He's really going to love it...I think. I'll have to talk to DH to see how he feels about treating DGP to YC. We're treating them to Schulas as a thank you for watching Elliott, so DH may feel like dinner is enough...I don't know. Right now, I'm just on :cloud9: over the money that we've saved by getting all of this wonderful advice from you guys!! Thank you thank you!!

Speaking as aa Grandparent who's had the pleasure of experiencing both WDW and DL with grandchildren :grouphug:, that in itself is a HUGE treat!

Besides, BC is a great resort and, if they are used to staying there, even the nicest of WDW resorts might not feel like that much of a splurge. I don't mean that in a negative way - I LOVE WDW resorts - but BC did a terrific job with their accommodations and are closer to the parks than some of Disney's own. BC also has great pool areas!

I'm sure the GPs will have a great time with DS while you enjoy your Package! Dinner at Shulas would be icing on the cake! :cake:

Ok, so one more question....

I read elsewhere in this thread that there were reports of being able to use the La Nouba ticket vouchers for a day other than the day of the plat package. For instance, if I'm on the platinum package on October 4, but I wanted to go to La Nouba on October 6, could I do this?? :confused3

It doesn't make a lot of sense, but the Disboards are usually right, so I just wanted to double check this.

I believe I read the same post several weeks ago and the way I understood it was;

Since they weren't able to use, nor get credit, for the tickets on the dark days of Sun/Mon, the CM gave them vouchers which showed an expiration through the end of the year. Then they thought it might be a good idea to give as Christmas presents and found out they couldn't be transferred, thus not ever using them.

2011 La Nouba Performance Times:
Tuesday through Saturday, 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. Performances will be available on Monday, December 26, 2011

No performances on Sunday and Monday, or on the following dates:

•January 18 - 22, 2011
•March 22, 2011
•May 17 -22, 2011
•May 24 - 28, 2011
•July 26, 2011
•September 20 - 24, 2011
•November 22, 2011

La Nouba's normal show schedule is Tue-Sat. If your package is during a period of time when the show is 'dark' (see schedule above) they will issue a gift card equal to the cost of admission. Gift cards can be 'spent' on pretty much anything else while you are there. But if your stay starts October 4 (Tues) you will need to go on 1 of the 2 nights covered under your 1-day package.

Looking back at posts #866 - 870, you'll find the following information: If La Nouba is ‘dark’ during your entire Premium/Platinum Plan stay, you will be given gift cards at check-in, valued at $85 for adults, $69 for kids, instead of the usual ticket vouchers for the show. However, gift cards are only given when the show is dark, as in an “out of the ordinary break” and not Sundays and Mondays that are considered permanent dark days and not eligible for gift card compensation.

Interestingly, some posters refer to information on Mousavers (a great website) but Mary even states that she got most of her information regarding 1-day packages from a DISboard forum - in fact THIS forum. There is a ton of information that could be combed through and she consolidated much of it, which is quite helpful. However, there are little blips here & there that could be open to misunderstanding so it is always good to ask questions. Those of us who have 'been there/done that' will try to help.

Thanks for the info on the Richard Petty... DD has now decided she doesn't really wanna do it, so its been cut from the plans... gained an hour :)

Thanks for posting the info about La Nouba... I had planned to see La Nouba on Tuesday November 22nd... which now means I'll be seeing it on Saturday November 19th which then meant totally rearranging the plans... I will be so happy to send the plans to the IPO so that part of the trip will be complete. I did not think planning for 6 nights and 7 days would be this challenging... but DD wants to have a golf lesson every day and I don't like massages so she has 2 of those to work in.... This is sooooo hard to plan!! I think I have it all worked out now though so Monday the IPO gets it!!! YAYAY!!!!

~Nannette

If La Nouba is dark Sept 20-24 and you book a one-day Premium Pkg for Saturday, Sept 24 (which will carry into the 25th), would you still get the La Nouba gift card? La Nouba doesn't show on Sundays or Mondays.

I'm on the Plat plan and am just adding the reminder to double check the schedule the IPO sends you.
Following on from my previous post where they were waiting to finalise the bookings for a couple of things, those have now been booked and the final schedule has arrived.
However my afternoon activities have been swapped over to the opposite dates than I requested. :scared1:
Doing this stuffs up all the timing to get around to everything but the IPO do not check the timing.
I feel fortunate to have the original schedule I sent in and will re-send with a note asking to have my times re-booked the way I originally requested.
However of course, this just starts me back on the whole replanning obsessive thinking thing!

Wilderness Lodge got my November reservations perfect. A few dining times were maybe a 10 minute difference but that is to be expected. I even had to email and switch our Wishes Fireworks Cruise to an Illuminations one since our friends just booked a Wishes one for next week when we are there. I switched out Cali Grill for Yachtsman's Steakhouse that night!

Sigh. Good luck fixing everything Sugarglider!

As you know, we're doing this on the same night and place. Two of our requests were also messed up, but nothing major. I'd asked for a carriage ride at POR at 10:00 or 10:30, but specified that I only wanted this if they thought we would have enough time to get there after Illuminations. They tried to book at 10:30am and wrote back saying, "We couldn't get a morning appointment because they only run in the evening. Would you be interested in an evening reservation?" Um, yeah, that's why I specified that I wanted to do it after Illuminations. Plus you have us booked at 10:30am that day for parasailing, so why try to book us at 10:30am for a carriage ride in the first place? :headache:

That said, the woman who I worked with to fix the problems was very prompt, helpful, courteous, and just lovely to work with. One issue was fixed (and it wasn't a big issue anyway). We weren't able to get the carriage ride, but that's ok because it would have been rushed after Illuminations, plus we just got a haunted carriage ride earlier in our stay, so it's all good. :thumbsup2

That's a facepalm moment! Frustrating but also :lmao:

I'm probably working with the same lady - very lovely and courteous, fast etc but attention to detail seems to be lacking. I am confident that as long as don't ask for any opinions or guidance, I just tell exactly what has to happen, it will be OK in the end.

and yes - we are on the Wishes Cruise together! Anyone else for the Wishes Cruise for 1 November - well - it will be a HalloWishes Cruise - maybe we should plan a Halloween Theme.

I have another question about the Platinum Plan wishes cruise. It says in the brochure that "Seating is limited, and you may be seated with other parties." However, the CM on the phone told me that the boat is only for me and my guests. I was thinking about inviting DGP, but I didn't want to do this if there may not be room. Does anyone know how this works?

Also, if DH does not want to use his spa credit, can I use it, or is it non-transferrable?

Thanks as always! :goodvibes

I am so excited... I just sent 6 nights 7 days worth of the platinum plan off to the IPO!!! I thought that by doing this plan for this many days it would be so easy to fit the stuff in...boy was I wrong!! Anyway once we get everything officially booked May 23rd is the booking day, and I check to make sure everything is right I can share the plan with anyone who wants to see whats going on, but I'm not so sure it would really be very helpful since we are doing just one tour a day., but if anyone is interested just let me know.

I think I'm close to finalizing our one night Platinum plan...plan. I would greatly appreciate some advice from the experts here. You have all been so helpful! Please let me know if you think Option One or Two is best:

Option 1
Day One:

Check in 6:30am (ouch :headache:)
8am-10am: Epcot Around the World Tour
11am-1pm: Sammy Duvall Watersports (I will stay until about 12:30 and take monorail to GF. DH will stay a little extra to enjoy whatever he likes)
1:30pm: Massage at GF for me
1:30pm DH will go meet the grandparents and our son (they will not be on the platinum plan) for a round of mini golf
2:30-3pm DH and I return to YC
5pm-9pm: V&A's Chef's Table (upgrade to Chef's Table)

Day Two:
8am-9am: Meet grandparents and DS for breakfast at Cape May's
10am-11am: DH goes to Richard Petty Ride Along
10am-11am: Facial for me (DH doesn't like spas and it is totally beyond me to waste a spa credit if I don't have to)
1pm-3:30pm: Downtown Disney including boat rental
4pm: Fulton's
6pm-7:30pm: La Nouba
8pm: Wishes Cruise (departs at 8:30pm)

Option 2

Day One:
7:30am: check into YC (a little more reasonable)
9am-10am: DH & I breakfast at Kona Cafe in Poly
10:30am-12:30pm: Sammy Duvall Watersports (parasailing, watercraft)
1pm: Massage for Me @ GF
1pm: Richard Petty Ride Along for DH
2:30pm: return to YC
5pm-7:30pm: V&A's main dining room
8pm: Wishes Cruise (departs at 8:30pm)

Day Two:
8am-10am: Epcot Around the World Tour
11am: Facial for me at GF or SS
11am: DH meets DGP and DS for mini golf (if DS is not napping at this time)
2pm: Boat Rental at Downtown Disney/walk around
4pm: Fulton's
6pm-7:30pm: La Nouba
7:30pm - on: visit shops in Downtown Disney

So, which option do you think would work best? Any suggestions? Thanks! :flower3:

I'd love to see your plans. I've only done the Premium Plan but I'd like to do the Platinum Plan sometime and would love to get ideas.

I'll post it this weekend when I have a free moment. Like I said this is 6 nights and 7 days of the platinum plan and I am travelling with DD26 who does not like to be running all over the place so there is a lot of down time built in. Most of the water stuff with the exception of the parasailing is just going to be walk up. IPO has told me that we can walk up unless you need to reserve the boat (parasailing, waterskiing) walk up should be ok. I have been working with YC IPO very close with emails and they have been very helpful. So we'll see. Anyway i'll post it up as soon as I can (it's a lot).

Yes. Our one nite was Mar 22 and we received the gift cards.

Ok here is the plan as I have it now. Nothing is booked yet, the booking window is May 23rd. IPO at YC has the plan and is going to book that morning. I have used the YC IPO before and they are very efficent so I'm not worried.
