Premium Plan for One Night Just for the Tours, LaNouba, etc.??

I never thought of this, but am now really considering it for our Oct trip to Pop Century. We are hoping for free QSDP and were just going to pay OOP for a couple signature meals and Keys to the Kingdom, but we're interested in La Nouba too.

This is probably earlier in the thread, but what hours does it start and end? Check in one day until midnight the next? So we could do two signature dinners? We're two adults - how much would it cost?

thanks so much for this idea!

With any of the dining programs, you have until midnight the day of checkout to use it. So you buy a package for a Monday night stay... you can use it all day Monday and then Tuesday (your checkout day) you can use it up until Midnight.

This is why its best to do it in middle of your trip, so you are already there on the opening day to start using the plan right away..

Enjoy!

it costs rack rate on the room, a minimum of a 1 day ticket and then add either $169 p.p. for the premium plan or $229 p.p. for platinum. Have a look at mousesavers and the wdwinfo site connected to this board to see the costs and info. Mousesavers also has a trip report of how it went.

This thread inspired DH and I to go on a premium night trip for just the two of us Memorial Day weekend. We are going for 3 nights, Friday night at the BWV (I actually won this night's stay through a AAA contest), Saturday night is our Premium Package night at CBR, and then Sunday night is room-only at CBR. I'm still debating on what to do on our arrival night (Fri). We have an ADR at Raglan Road, but since we are renting a car, I am thinking of driving to Citywalk. I wish Hyperion Wharf was done! Anyway, Saturday we are doing the Around the World Segway tour at Epcot at 9am. Lunch is at San Angel in Mexico. Afternoon touring World Showcase, and then dinner at the Yachtman's Steakhouse. Then it's off to Jellyrolls! Sunday morning is the Keys to the Kingdom 8:30am tour at MK, followed by parasailing and jet skiing at Sammy Duval's. Dinner is at Narcoossee's and we will end the evening with Extra-Magic hours until 2am at the MK. I was able to get an afternoon flight out at 2:15pm on Monday, so hopefully we can sleep in a little!

Good for you Lucky'sMum - pretty packed weekend but you know you'll have fun :yay:

OK this morning the Poly IPO confirmed all of my bookings - all perfect - and it was the fastest booking ever - a matter of a couple of hours and everything was done! Fabulous service!

So 1 night Platnium at the Poly. Chosen because it is next to TTC for the Epcot monorail (need to get to the front entrance of Epcot for tours) and next to GF for V&A, Wishes Cruise, Spa treatment, monorail to Contempory for Sammy Duvall etc.

So here is my thinking on pricing:

I have rounded the prices. I don't know how much is the tax that has to be added. and I'm Australian and our dollar is running between 5% - 8% over parity with US so I am getting a slight discount on everything just from that. :worship: (first time in Aussie history!!:yay:)

Paid $785

1 day ticket $80 (which will not be activated but saved for another trip)
1 night garden view room full price $500 ish (but actually worth $350ish if not on plan with discount?)
Deluxe Dining plan $79.00 (so I won't include the value of meals that I normally would have got under this plan.)

so:
Dolphins $200
Sea Aqua Tour $100
GF Facial $130
V&A dinner - extra over cost of normal meal - say $60
Wishes Cruise - who knows?? I am in boat with Kungaloosh :wave2: say $100
SDs PWC guided excursion $135
deluxe paragliding $130
FW segway tour $100
La nouba $80
Sea Raycer $45
Photopass CD $100

I have some other meal bookings for breakfast and Fultons but the cost would be the same as if under the Dining Plan - so that doesn't count.

So my total for activities is approx. $1200 before I price the room, ticket, and dining plan. And those items have a retail price but obviously a different value or cost to Disney. Imagine if I had someone with me leveraging off the room cost and doubling all these events! Technically, if I add a second person, he/she would get all these events for only $229 plus a 1 day ticket.

So I am going to have a busy and fun time!

I appreciate this approach is not for eveyone - need to be able to plan, know your way around etc.

Thank you to everyone who posts hints and advice on this thread to help make it happen for me:woohoo:

I'm so glad it all got straightened out for you! :thumbsup2

I am really getting antsy now...
My DW and I celebrate our 25th anniversary in Feb 2012, and want to do the Plat plan for a day, but the problem is WDW not takin any ressies yet for 2012. You want to book 180 days out (meals especially), but they keep saying ressies coming in the fall, but 180 day window is only a month away. Oh well, guess it will all work out... :upsidedow

We are in the same situation - Jan 29-Feb 1- Platinum. How to make ADRs? I booked a room only so that I could use the reservation number to make my own reservations, though that will only work for dining, not activities. The CM I spoke to said that people on the Platinum plan are guaranteed their reservations. That sounds a little weird. What about all the people who have made reservations at their 180 day mark (say at Cinderella's Table or Le Cellier)? They just count on cancellations perhaps. Nervewracking for sure.

When you are on the Platnium Plan you don't need to make the ADRs online yourself. The IPO of your resort will send you a booking template, you list everything you want and they do the whole lot for you. It makes sure your bookings are attached to your Platinum Plan and the CMs at the venue don't try to bill you. They too are limited to making bookings when they are open to the public. So if you get that list to the IPO before the bookings are open your requests will be sitting there in the system ready to confirm the moment bookings open.

I am not sure about guaranteeing reservations - maybe someone else can comment?
Restaurants have some flexibility with bookings. Arrival times for people are not absolute. You arrive and you wait for the next available table for your gp size. so they can just jam one or two Platnium people in without too much trouble. I think everyone would say they had a wait at couple of their ADRs and heavy booking loads is one of the reasons

Actually, donnishobson was responding to my post... we can't book the Plat plan yet for January and we are coming up on the 180 day window. So we can book room only now, reserve own meals, then change to Plat plan when it is available. The CM I spoke to said we might not be able to book the Plat for 2012 until the fall. If Donnis is correct and they actually set aside ressies for Plat plan, then maybe it won't matter, but if not, there won't be any ressies for Le Cellier, etc. at 120 days out (or whatever it will be when they open up ressies for January).

Thanks for the clarification Papamouse. I see the dilemma now

Not sure if anyone else was interested to know, but just in case...

I called Disneyworld and spoke to a CM that confirmed that the Haunted Carriage ride is not included in the Platinum Plan. I wasn't sure if anyone else had this same question but thought I would share. The regular carriage rides are included in the Platinum Plan. Happy Planning!

OK this morning the Poly IPO confirmed all of my bookings ...

So 1 night Platnium at the Poly.

So here is my thinking on pricing: I rounded as I don't know how much tax is.

Paid $785 This is your TOTAL for the 1 nite PLATINUM plan, right? And the pricing below is what you are COMPARING this price too? Wanted to make sure since you showed the cost for Deluxe dinning. Actually, with PREMIUM/PLATINUM plans, it is better than Deluxe, since Dlx still costs 2TS for Signature meals and Prem/Plat allows 3 meals - no matter whether QS, TS or Signature! But to be more accurate in your price-to-value, be sure you include the one-day cost of the Premium Plan = $229.

1 day ticket $80 (which will not be activated but saved for another trip)
1 night garden view room full price $500 ish (worth $350ish if not on plan with discount?) Correct - must pay non-discounted price when using Prem/Plat plan
Deluxe Dining plan $79.00 (won't include value of meals I would have got under this plan.) Again, for price-to-value, go ahead and best-guess what you would have eaten - you might be surprised based on the value of Signature meals - and, of course, all include appetizer, entree and dessert!

so:
Dolphins $200
Sea Aqua Tour $100
GF Facial $130
V&A dinner - extra over cost of normal meal - say $60
Wishes Cruise - who knows?? I am in boat with Kungaloosh :wave2: say $100

Imagine if I had someone with me leveraging off the room cost and doubling all these events! Technically, if I add a second person, he/she would get all these events for only $229 plus a 1 day ticket. Yep, would be a good deal for someone, but you should also split the cost of the room, too. And, if they came with you from Down-Under, there would be the airfare - but STILL!!!

So I am going to have a busy and fun time!

Yes, you certainly are going to have a great time. A lot to do, means you DEFINITELY need to plan a day of rest after! Where are you spending the rest of your stay? Have a GREAT TIME & if you have other questions, just ask.

SOOO glad I found this thread a few months ago !!!
I booked our one-night/two-days Platinum Plan at the Polynesian last weekend and IPO already has most of our activities booked

Tuesday Nov.1
08.10AM Breakfast at CRT
10.30AM Parasailing
12.30PM Seas Aqua Tour
06.00PM Dinner at Fulton's
08.00PM Illuminations Cruise

Wednesday Nov.2
09.00AM Around the World Segway tour (I have asked if they could get us on an earlier tour)
05.00PM Victoria & Albert's
09.00PM La Nouba (we will tell the staff at V&A that we need to be out by 8PM and we'll take a cab from GF to DTD so we can get there by 8.30)

I still have to book our spa treatments that afternoon, and we were hoping to squeeze in some boat rental at Sammy Duvall's sometime before the Spa too but I think that will depend on whether or not we can get on an earlier Segway tour.

We have over $2,000 worth of activities & dining for the $690 we paid for the package. I can't wait!

Woohooo... Today is my 180 day mark. EVERYTHING except Golf lessons (can't book until 90 days out) is booked. Got everything except the Steam Engine Tour can't have that because I had it scheduled for Thanksgiving Day and there are no tours happening on Thanksgiving Day. Victoria and Alberts chef table is booked followed by the firework cruise. Fantasmic is booked. Cirque is booked followed by Fultons. Yacht Club IPO got it all right love that!! Now for the next 6 months to fly by!!!

Cool, you're doing Platinum Plan on the same night as SugarGlider and I are, and all 3 of us are staying at the Poly! Perhaps we'll all meet up at the front desk early in the morning on Nov. 1.

You're also doing a lot of the same activities as my husband and I, except on reverse days.

ETA: Oh wait, on second look, we're on the same Living Seas Aqua tour! And we might run into you at the spa or boating on Wed.

Congrats Nannette!

Did they indicate where your Fantasmic seating will be, by any chance?

I'd like to thank you for sharing this info. I had been wondering about it myself, though when we moved our PP stay out to Nov. 1st, it became a moot point.

Oh wow! there is starting to be a little group of us, isn't there?! we'll be sharing that boat, sharing that tour, eating our meals together!

I'm on that Seas Aqua Tour and La Nouba.

and 2ofUs - thanks for your comments and clarifications and well wishes! :goodvibes I'm moving over to OWK for another week to rest in the jacuzzi! :rotfl:

That's so funny !!! We'll probably run into each other at some point :) If so don't be afraid, we look weird, but we (rarely) bite :rotfl:

I thought I was the Mistress of Planning but phewwwwwww that stuff isn't for beginners :)

IPO was able to switch us to the 7.45AM Segway tour so now we can do this :

Wednesday Nov.2
07.45AM Around the World Segway tour
11.00AM Boat rental at Sammy Duvall's
01.00PM Spa at the GF
05.00PM Victoria & Albert's
09.00PM La Nouba
Midnight : pass out !

Also I was told today by the IPO that we technically can not use the Fantasmic reserved seating the day after our package ends as everything has to be used during our package stay. She did say though that if there were no expiration date on our voucher we could give it a try anyway - I was under the impression that reservations needed to be made so I don't know how that's gonna work.
