Premium Plan for One Night Just for the Tours, LaNouba, etc.??

My IPO said I didn't need Dinning with it there was a reserved section for Platinum people and I would just show up. I will find out more when I can talk to DOn. He seems to know what is really going on. The other 2 I have talked to not so much.
I din't want to do any of the dinning places they had, but I so wanted to see Fantasmic again. Last time I was to busy videoing it that I missed most of it. :sad2:

I hear you about not wanting to do the Fantasmic dining plan but still wanting to see the show. We'll probably buck up and get the dinner package on our next trip anyway. If you find out where the Platinum seating is, will you pass that info along? It would be super if it's a more central area, but the dinner package area is fine too. Thanks so much! (By the way, I love your avi -- Jiminy is one of my favorite characters.)

Thanks to all who have shared on this thread. :flower3:

We returned from our trip last night and are so glad that we tried the premium plan for one night! We saved quite a bit it. We did have to cancel a few of the activities that we reserved due to a death in the family, but we were still able to try many new things. Our favorites included the chartered fishing excursion, parasailing, horseback riding and La Nouba. We also enjoyed Kona, HDDR, Fulton's and the Illuminations viewing. We did enjoy using the free mugs, but we didn't have time to use the arcade pass.

Guess we'll have to save the tubing and jet ski tour for next time. And there definitely be a next time!:thumbsup2

It sounds like you got in quite a lot! It sounds wonderful, but sorry to hear about the death in the family.

Where was your Illuminations viewing area? We're still trying to decide whether to do that or the Fantasmic viewing.

is the viewing an either/or thing or can you do both (obviously on diff't nights)?

My sympathy to you on your loss.

You might be able to use the arcade pass on a future trip, even though it's only worth something like $5.00 . . . I had one from a previous package and was able to use it almost 3 months later - so save the voucher.

Hubby has to many other dinning places he wants to try so we'll just be doing the seating. If I find out anything, I'll gladly pass it along. I'm in my zone here with the planning and stuff. Several frends are wanting me to plan their Disney trips for next year. I tend to OVER research everything. LOL
Jiminy is my favorite. I was so excited to see him at Disney World for my first trip Dec 2007. My husband said if my face lit up like that everytime we could come back as long as I wanted. Unfortunately the photopass guy did losy pictures of that shoot.

I like the way you think gigi! :thumbsup2

We're doing one night, so 2 evenings, and one evening will be the Wishes cruise. So we'll just have to choose one. We're leaning toward Illuminations, if only because the best night for our plan is Tuesday, so that doesn't cover a Sunday or Thursday Fantasmic viewing. But who knows, there's always the possibility of another one down the road some day. :rolleyes1

That's so sweet!

Maybe I should practice face-lighting to see if it would work with my husband....

I thought the earliest Segway tour was 7:45 am at Epcot? I see two different posts where people say they are doing the 7:00 am?

Has anyone done both the 7:45am segway tour and then the Dolphins in DEpth at 9:45 on the SAME DAY?

Also, can I keep my full week in a studio at BCV (booked as a member through DVC) and then buy the 1 nt in the middle on Plat at a deluxe resort but not bother even using the room? (Just keep room at BCV.

I was under the impression that it was one or the other, but our travel packet included vouchers to both Illuminations and Wishes. Go figure!:confused3

Has anyone booked their 1-night premium/platinum plan through AAA lately? Early on it was reported that AAA was the one and only discount that was applicable to the room portion of the package, but I haven't heard much on that since. Just wondering if its worth going through them for our next trip.

yes you can... but it's a waste of a deluxe room... i will gladly use it for you if i'm in the area ;)

Another question. If hubby wants to golf & take a lesson on day 1 of our platinum package he will want to head there at 6:30 am or so? Can he just go without checking in or does he need to bring something to show them ?

I can't help you with the 7 am question (waayy to early for me!) but I do think 7:45 am followed by the 9:45 am Dolphins in Depth would not really be feasible. Segway will end at Innoventions (after the around the world tour) and then you'd have to exit the park and meet the Dolphin tour outside near guest relations. Many of the tours we have done have gone longer than scheduled -- and even on schedule you are technically overlapping as you are supposed to arrive at 9:30 am for Dolphins, and yes, they do come out that early to start collecting names, ID's, sizes for wetsuits, etc. I suppose its possible either or both of those tours might work with you, but I wouldn't count on it.

Yes, you could do that -- not stay in your deluxe room -- but if you can split your DVC reservation into two another possibility would be to do 1 night in the middle at BCV cash, and add the platinum plan to that. Chances are you'd never have to move rooms.

Every activity we did we had to show a room key for, but I've never done golf/lesson.

For the Segway tour, the schedule I have says 7:45... maybe they're like me and just planning to be early to avoid being late?

I do believe others have said they've done Dolphins in Depth the same day.

And as far as the room, I wouldn't see why not! However, If you're not going to be using it, I live in the area and I'd gladly occupy the room in your absence! :cloud9:

We did enjoy using the free mugs

I've been so excited planning all the activities and meals for our Platinum stay that the mugs completely escaped me!!

This just made my day... it's like the sprinkles on my sundae! :dance3:

I'll have to share our itinerary soon... we're putting the finishing touches on it. :surfweb:

I received the ALLEars Weekly newsletter last week and a reader wrote in saying she was told while doing the Segway Around the World Tour that they are no longer doing the 7:45am tour. No other details though. I would like to know what these times are now.
