Premium Plan for One Night Just for the Tours, LaNouba, etc.??

Help!

I am a jeans and tee shirt girl.
What do I wear to V&A?

DH will wear a very nice dark grey sports coat and dress slacks.

We go straight to the Wishes cruise. Feb 9th, or 10th, can't remember which night is first. So I am worried about being cold too.

Ideas? Pictures. Help please, I am out of my comfort zone.

The problem is that the pp wants to use the dining plan so they need a pkg for all 3 segments and tickets for all the segments in order to buy the dining plan unless they are DVC or AP which allow you to buy the ddp ticketless. For a long trip buying 1 AP to get this option is probably a good savings but adds more cost to the consideration.

Ahh.... yes that would very problematic.... and expensive.

Personally, we don't like doing the DDP for the whole trip (just too much food after 7-10 days of it), so we like splitting our stay, doing DDP for part and then going OOP for last few days.

Maybe the PP could consider doing more days on the front end of the ressie complete with DDP, then one day w/ Premium/Platinum, then just a 1-2 day ressie on the end and pay OOP for that short time. Otherwise, you guys are right, 3 short ressies with 3 shortened ticket packages is going to be too $$ to make it worthwhile trying this.

**Thanks for all of the other information. We were planning on DDP for our entire trip, but we will be spending a couple of non-Disney days at WWoHP/Sea World/Discovery Cove, so depending on how we maneuver things, I could probably cut DDP from half the trip. OR, upgrade to an AP (only one person has to upgrade, is that correct?) to get the 2nd half of the trip ticket free. Either way, I suppose I could add the approximately $300 cost of 1 day tickets to my total "cost", even if we end up not using those tickets until later. And even if I upgrade to an AP, I'll have to add that additional cost it. So, as long we squeeze in more than $1000 in food and entertainment, I'll be happy! Thanks again for the tips!**

This was for a family of 4, correct? You will reach that $$ threshold without even trying. The website link I gave a few posts back lists some proven sample plans to show you how to maximize the Prem/Plat DDP. For example if you did a 1-day plan with Dolphins in Depth in AM, lunch at Big River Grill, spa treatment & photo shoot at SSR or GF in the afternoon, dinner at Cirico's followed by Wishes cruise just this 1 day of activities for fam of 4 is worth around $2400! That is absolutely a doable plan and you still have 1 meal left and another day to do activities to increase the value even more.

Even if you looked at actual costs (Plat plan + 1 day ticket + 1 night stay at deluxe X4) this is still a great way to get a bargain.

So $229+82 X4=$1244. Plus another $600 for 1night stay at Boardwalk, total is $1844. So you can how easy it is to get great value.

You could literally go to AK and do the new Wild Animal Trek ($180/person), then eat dinner at Citrico's (about $65+/person) and go on the Wishes cruise ($346) and already cover your cost doing almost nothing. :)
(calculations corrected... thanks SYman3honeybees)
I guess my point is that it's not really hard to get the value out of this plan, with minimal planning and willingness to go have fun!

So $458+82 X4=$2160. Plus another $600 for 1night stay at Boardwalk, total is $2760. So you need to do $360 on the second day to break even. YOu could just go to a signature restaurant and LaNouba that day and just that would be $600 value for 4.

I believe it is $230 per person per night on the Platinum plan. $230(Platinum) +$87(1 day base tix) x 4 = $1268.

Ok a few questions for those who have done it...
With the wishes cruise-are you on the boat with the music or without? I'll do it either way, just wondering.

When we did it in November I am pretty sure our boat did NOT have music. We could hear music from surrounding boats (and coming from the park -- slightly out of sync with the other boats' music) but I don't think there was any music on our boat itself. We were the only ones on the platinum boat that night.

I would wear a nice dress or a VERY dressy pants ensemble. You can't really be overdressed there but certainly can be underdressed!

Are you saying that you are going directly from V&A to the Wishes cruise? That could be problematic with the outfits! Maybe you could bring a change of clothes and/or coats and have bell services at GF hold them till you are done at V&A.

We did the Wishes cruise in early November. It wasn't an overly cold day but it got pretty cold out there on the water after a little while. They did have blankets but I would recommend dressing as warmly as you possibly can.

hehe... I pulled my nimbers from the Mousesavers site... didn't notice the numbers were for 2 adults :)

Makes it even easier to get your value out of it.

Supposedly there are 2 sizes of pontoon boats. The smaller ones have no music, but the larger ones do.

Do we have to do watersports ONLY at Sammy Duvall's ?( I know only they have the parasailling, tubing ect) I'm wondering about Sea Raycers or jet skis.

We are going to have a couple hours downtime near Epcot/ Boardwalk area and I THINK they rent Sea Racyers there . Can we use these as part of the premium plan ? Same goes for all the other locations ( fort wilderness, grand floridian ect.) basically anywhere with a marina- can we use these locations on the plan ?

thanks

I thought the Wild Africa Trek was not included in the premium or platinum plans. Has that changed?

Well, it is a brand new tour, so the printed plans would not have listed it, but truth is, I just assumed the Platinum would include it... maybe not the premium, though since it does exclude some tours.

it was not available yet through either plan and cs could not say that it definitely will be added. My friend just did the platinum the week the tour opened and it was not available through platinum at that time. Perhaps after the introductory period is over in April we will see. I did the tour on opening day and loved it! Of course, Joe Rodhe was on my 10 am tour!

Sweet! That must have been fun to have Joe on your tour.
I actually just got off the phone with Disney, and heard the same thing. For some reason, I always thought Premium included all tours but the expensive ones and Plat included them all, but that is not the case. Funny, they include the ultra spendy Backstage Magic Tour, but not some of the lesser ones. :)

Hope they add it, but whether they do or not, I AM going to check that one out... it looks like a blast!

Sorry if this is something that keeps getting asked, but I completely forgot about this thread when I booked our res. last week.
Last week I booked a 4 night package at GF with a 6 day MYW ticket no DP. I realize now that since we also have a res. for V&A, plan to make use of Neverland club this same night and also plan to attend La Nouba during the trip that I should have booked one night as Platinum with a 1 day MYW ticket for our family of 2 adults, 1 10y/o and 1 8y/o. Am I right that it would have been worth our while just with these aspects of the plan? We are 30 days out and so everything is already paid in full. Does it help any that we are then moving to BC for 4 more nights on a room only res.? Our night at V&A is during the GF stay and I was going to book La Nouba during the BC stay. I'm too late to take advantage of this package right?

I also am hoping that they add the Wild Africa Trek tour to Platinum as my Disney 3 that did Premium last summer is at it again this summer but upgrading to platinum! I had such a great experience on this tour I want to share it with my friends!:goodvibes Right now it is only $129... a steal, considering you get a free Photopass CD with the tour!

If they would let you change your booking, make night #1 a 1 night stay at GF with the 6day pass and 1-day Plat package. That way you don't have to pay anymore to meet the Plat requirement for 1-night stay and 1day pass. IF they will do that without charging you anymore (did you have any discounts on your stay that would be affected?), then your only additional cost would be $229 ea for the Plat package.... but you HAVE to buy it for all 4 of you, and you would have to do V&A and La Nouba while the package was active.
Make sense?
So here's your problem... V&A is $133 ea and La Nouba is around $91, so if all 4 were going to both you would break even basically. BUT all 4 of you aren't going (guessing since you mentioned Neverland for the kids) which means you would lose money.

For this plan to work, especially with 4 people on it, you have to really maximize the extra features that are available, otherwise it's just cheaper to pay OOP.

Check out this thread for a lot of great info on how this works and how to make it work for you.

I want to check this out soooo bad. But gonna be awhile I'm afraid. Our next trip is specifically to exprience WDW at Christmastime, so don't think I'll be able to get my DW to let me break free from all the tinsel and gingerbread to check out AK :)

I am trying to do the math to see if it would make sense to do this for one night. Anyone know what the cost of the spa treatments are? Or what happens if La Nouba isn't performing the week we are there?? Any help would be appreciated. THANKS!!

AK has tinsel and gingerbread too. :santa: Actually, some of my favorite themed trees are in Camp Minnie-Mickey at AK. Maybe the park doesn't feel *quite* as Christmas-y as others, but there is a fair amount of holiday cheer to be had!

The spa menu for the Grand Floridian spa is here. For example, the 50 minute Swedish massage (included in package) is $120. The spa mani/pedi combo is $110. I just noticed this is from 2010 - I didn't see an updated one for 2011 yet.

From what I've gathered on this thread (and someone please correct me if I'm wrong), if La Nouba is "dark" the week you are there, you *may* get vouchers or gift cards for something else?? However, this does not apply to their regular dark nights of Sunday and Monday. I'm not sure how they decide if you were going to La Nouba or not...so I'm probably not really much help! :guilty:
