Premium Plan for One Night Just for the Tours, LaNouba, etc.??

2, thank you for pointing out that clkelley came up with this magnificent plan. :)

cl, I bow to your brilliance, madam.

My 'best guess' is they will make it available since it is in the park and only a 3 hour tour as is the Backstage Safari tour in AK. The KTTK tour at MK is 4.5-5 hours and is included.

The 8-8.5 hour multi-park backstage tour is only included with Premium, as are the Dolphins in Death Thanks OhioDisneyDad - that SHOULD be Dolphins in DEPTH! and the Aqua Seas (may not have the names right), but other park tours are allowed on Premium.

The ones that are available to guests staying at certain resorts and/or staying concierge (AKL) are not included in either package as they have their own restrictions.

Sounds like a nice tour!

Dolphins in Death!!! :scared1: I think I'm going to stay away from that one. :rotfl:

Anyone know who we can contact to find out about the inclusion of the Africa Trek with Premium/Platinum plans? I will be at the World in January and I would love to reserve this tour on my Premium/Platinum plan . . .

Hello everyone.

For those who have done parasailing, I understand that you don't get wet:banana: So no need to wear a swimsuit.

How about personal water craft (jet ski) rental? Do you get wet enough that you need to wear a swimsuit? :confused3 I don't mind getting my clothes a little wet, but don't want to go around wet the rest of the day or have to go back to the room to change. (Also don't really want to carry extra clothes in my bag.)

Kim

I realize it's been a while since you posted this but I haven't visited the thread in a while and wanted to share our experience.

You absolutely do not need a swim suit for parasailing. You won't get near the water. That said, when it's hot I prefer to wear a bathing suit on a boat and did when we went parasailing.

I wouldn't say it's required for personal watercraft either but you may get splashed a little, especially if you like to drive wildly. If you do wear one, they will allow you to stop the watercraft and get off and swim in Bay Lake, if you so choose. I love to swim and took full advantage of this during our trip in August, the dip made it much more enjoyable.

CM at 407-WDW-TOUR should know, but it will probably depend on who you get when you call. Unfortunately, information doesn't get passed along the Disney system as fast as it does the DISboard system.

Well, just had to cancel my Premium Plan, (and probably my entire December trip), maybe next year.

Since you didn't post a reason why, it is probably a personal issue so I won't ask. I do want to express my sincere wish that all goes well and that you WILL make that trip next year. :hippie:

Is AK the cheapest Deluxe to stay in for just one night? This really has my brain going for a different aspect on Disney.

I believe you are correct about AK pricing. However, it is also not as convenient location wise. WL should be a close second for pricing and, though it is not on the monorail, it does have boat service to Contemporary as well as to MK.

http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/disney-rates-2010.htm (if link doesn't work, go to top of this page & click on RESORTS - follow prompts to pricing)

DISboard has pricing posted for all resort levels 2010, but the 2011 pricing is currently only for value & moderate. Based on 2010 pricing, the least expensive room in VALUE SEASON for AKL and WL is $240 per night. Contemporary is $285.

If you stay at AK you will either need a car or a taxi if you fill your day full of activities. The water sports are all at Contemporary; most tours are at MK & EP. There are 2 nice tours at AK (and maybe the new Wild Africa tour).

Also consider the time involved in relocating if you stay at another resort before or after your Platinum night.

We'll be glad to help with planning as needed.

Eh, just work, but I DO have a job :-) I'll be spending the time working 18 hours days, then staying in a hotel in Columbia, MD instead of in my beloved camper at Disney World.

Oooowww, Columbia, Maryland -sounds fun? Never been there so if anyone from Columbia is insulted, my sincere apologies. But you'd probably rather be at WDW on vacation too, right?

I get to spend 3 vacation days over Thanksgiving weekend in Cleveland, OH. Don't know if that is good or bad as I've never been there, but my company has their headquarters there so I will be touring the facilities. My primary reason for the visit is to reconnect with my roommate from nearly 35 years ago. We lived in Hollywood & LA, CA for several years until she married and I was promoted/moved to San Jose/San Francisco. We kept in touch for several years then drifted apart.

With the wonders of Facebook, we discovered we are both now living back in our home towns. Since I had a few days to burn and was able to find a pretty cheap flight (and since my DH works retail and probably won't have time to notice I will be gone with all the BLACK FRIDAY business) I decided to gather all my old pictures and visit her.

Okay, I know there won't be theme park rides or characters (well, maybe ) but we will be visiting her cousins deli...:jester: and I'm sure that will make for less expensive dining?

Don't work tooooo hard and keep looking forward to next year!

I saw that wilderness lodge is also in the low end for pricing and more centrally located.

We will have rental car but AK is far out for the power user of this plan. I want the massage while DH drives cars and then meet up for dinner at V&A.

You might even seriously consider paying the difference and staying at Contemporary. We loved BLT and using the monorail & boat system. Our car sat most of the time we were there (except DS day).

We stayed at POP for our Premium visit; allowed plenty of transport time and still got in all our activities, but you can't do Platinum from POP :{

Anyone who has completed a platinum trip... how does the free photopass CD work? Do they give you a specific card to use, is it a code, voucher etc? The reason I ask is that we just got back from Disney and are going again for our Platinum night within 30 days... If I just hold onto our photopass card from this trip, do you think I could theoretically add the pictures onto the account so they will be included on the "free" cd"? I realize the portrait session pix are completely separate, I am talking about park photopass cards only...

Could you do this with a DVC reservation? I would love to add the premium plan for one night and do all that stuff!

I am not 100% sure, but I think it is just a voucher. I am hoping to be able to do the same thing.

Sorry, no. But if there are a couple of things included that you would have/might have paid oop for anyways booking a 1 night reservation for a room (or camp site) you do not even plan to use can still work out to a "savings."

I called the rules for platium are a joke you must pay rack rate or out the nose and I can't afford the prices in this economy.
