Premium Plan for One Night Just for the Tours, LaNouba, etc.??

Hello everyone! The day has finally come :cheer2::cheer2: We leave tonight to stay at the airport and fly out tomorrow morning for our anniversary trip. We will be doing one night on the Platinum plan at the Grand Floridian. I will happily report back on our experience upon our return! Happy Planning :lovestruc

I just got my booklet with package coupons in it from Disney for the Premium Plan. There was no ticket to be exchanged for Cirque du Soleil La Nouba. I booked my seat--was something supposed to come in the package for this?

You will get your ticket for La Nouba at your resort check-in. In our case La Nouba was "dark" so we were given gift cards instead.

Yes, you will receive Cirque vouchers/tickets in your Premium package upon checkin, but as I posted previously be sure to take along your confirmation number, because in July when we went to exchange our vouchers they could not find our confirmed seats (which we thought were recorded on the voucher tickets).

Thanks so much. I won't worry about not having the voucher until I check in, and I will make sure that I have the confirmation number as well just in case!

When is your departure date? Wondering how long before departure one should expect to receive these things.

We made our final payment July 23 for our trip on 9/8 but have NOT YET received anything from WDW. Maybe I should call them?

we didn't receive our package papers until the beginning of august, about three weeks before our dates.

We will be at 3 weeks on 8/18...

Tried calling but lines are JAMMED to do release of FD, Room-Only & Gift card info being released through year-end and early 2011.

UPDATE: Held for 2:10 then music stopped but no one said anything - just 'blank' for about 45 sec. and then the "ummm *#@$&%@^!' line went dead. Lesson learned - never call on the first day new package pricing is released!

Subscribing to this thread. Hopefully doing a belated anniversary trip in January for 4 days and the DH says this sounds like a great idea!

Before hearing of this, he was to plan our long weekend, but now I don't know if I can trust him.:rotfl2:

Departure date is Sept 14. Maybe you should call.

Something I was thinking about recently - has anyone in this thread booked a package over New Years Eve ? I realize that this date would probably limit some of the activities one could do because of crowding but the reserved fireworks viewing area provided as part of the package suddenly becomes quite enticing if one could do this on that date.

When we did our package in June we lucked out in that it was on the first weekend of summer nightastic. It was really nice to have the luxury of the space in the seating area below the Plaza restaurant after making our way through the shoulder-to-shoulder crowds. If Disney would allow reserved package areas for NYE fireworks displays this would be a major perk.

Any comments or suggestions ?

Well, scratch that idea. I went back to the first page of the thread and found that clkelley had posted that the fireworks viewing was "blocked off" from 12/20 till 1/2, ie. Christmas and New Years. Shucks

I just booked 7 nights Premium Plan.. for November 2011. I would suggest people make sure of the times of tours. A lot of people are planning on a one night package and plan on doing a lot of tours during that time, but a lot of the tours are only given in the morning so it would be impossible to do some on the same day. Just a suggestion on the planning of the tours.

We realize that, BUT with a 1-night plan, you can maximize those two days and get SIGNIFICANTLY more value out of the Premium plan, than if you did the plan for 7 nights straight. I don't think there is any way a family could keep up the level of tours and activities for 7 nights that most of us are planning for the 1-night plan.

Well I had to cancel our 1 night platinum plan because I found out I'm pregant and I felt too limitated by what I could do. No Dolphin's in Depth, no aqua seas tour, no segway tours and since I have all day nausea (it might go away by then, but who really knows) I won't really enjoy Victoria and Albert's. I'm also guessing that tubing and waterskiing aren't recommended either. We'll still be going, but won't do the platinum plan and it'll be a much more relaxed trip.

So after a little thought, I decided to cancel for now and hopefully we'll be able to take advantage of this on our next trip.

We're here in orlando!! Our cheapie hotel has free wifi, why can't Disney have it too???

Anyway, we check in to wilderness lodge for our platinum plan on Friday, so I'll post a short synopsis whenever I can so you all can see how it went. :)

Great ideas on this thread. I had never looked into doing either the premium or platinum package. For one day in the middle of the week it seems that there is real value. As we are dreaming/planning a parents get away December 4 - 10 2011, I wonder if there is there reserved seating available on either the premium or platinum package for Candlelight Processional? Does either package work with the Candlelight Processional dining package?

I doubt there is reserved seating for CP with the Premium or Platinum Plan packages. In my experience, Disney pretty much sticks exactly to what is listed on the plans.

However, I would guess you could use your meal credits from the plans for the CP dining package, since other dining plan credits can be used.

Question for people who have done this: what things do you have to book through Itinerary Planning? I assume the fireworks cruises, priority fireworks viewing and Fantasmic! seating would be handled through them.

But what about spa treatments? Can you book those yourself and just "charge" the treatments to your room key when you show up, or does IP at your resort have to set the appointments up for you? What about tours?

I've booked a 1-night Platinum Plan in February and just emailed IP tonight, but I want to make sure I have everything covered.
