Premium Plan for One Night Just for the Tours, LaNouba, etc.??

A question for anyone who has done this package before, did you get anything in the mail ahead of time? Our package is paid for and we are a little more then a month out and we still haven't gotten any literature in the mail, is that unusual?

You should be getting it any day now. Our premium package is on 7/30 and we received the standard welcome packet the last week of June. It's nothing to get excited about though, it is exactly the same as the one for the rest of our stay, only it lists a bunch of things like "cirque du soleil admission certificate, resort refillable mug, premium plan recreation, portrait session, tours" etc as being available at check-in. The only thing in the booklet that is not standard are the vouchers for epcot and MK fireworks viewing areas.

I highly doubt it, but I suppose it can't hurt to try. Did you get your room during the southwest/orbitz "price mistake" a few weeks ago? The one where the prices were like 40% plus an additional 40% off? When I tried to book that deal through orbitz you couldn't even add the dining plan, let alone the premium/platinum plan that is far more restrictive on how you can book.

I don't know what discounts anyone else has been able to find that will work with premium/platinum but everything I have been told is that the only discount that will work is AAA. I tried several others myself and no go.

Good luck!

Yup, I got the room deal. Since southwest/orbitz/travelocity all had it, I don't think it was a mistake. I think of it as an 18 hour sale. :rotfl2: If you can't book the dining plan, then I know you can't book a premium package. That's ok!

Yeah, that was the one! I am just bitter because I tried to book a room at yacht club for like $120 a night and when I got to the confirmation page it said there was an error and by the time I went back through the prices had all gone back up! :-) Enjoy your stay!! those were some awesome rates!

Aw man, that had to be a big disappointment. I guess that it was an error after all. I had heard that it had happened once before as well. Hmmm, maybe we should watch next year and see if it happens again and be ready to pounce on it if it does.

You have seriously got me thinking about doing this! :thumbsup2 We have always wanted to do LaNouba & Hoop De Doo, etc but just could never justify the extra costs on top of what we already pay to go to Disney.

I priced out 1 Saturday night in September at POR for the Premium plan and it came up to $705 total (king bed room, 1 day base MYW & Premium plan) for 2 adults. $705 sounds like a lot for 1 night but when you factor in LaNouba, HDDR, all the tours, golf, etc. that sounds pretty reasonable to me.

When I told DH about it, his eyes got really BIG. I think he likes the idea too!

Anyone who has done this before with 2 or more rooms, if you did the portrait session, could you select two print packages without having to pay extra? I made a reservation for the session at poly but then I realized maybe we would get 2 print packages since we had 2 rooms. We don't nessecarily need the session itself to be longer, but probably wouldn't hurt either. Any thoughts?

I don't think it would hurt to book two time slots. The more time you have, the more opportunity you have to get some great pictures in various locations. You could always say you think you've got enough good ones when you want to quit.

You also have to factor in that it is a hotel night that you were probably going to be paying for anyway. You can either upgrade your ticket for the rest of your trip or perhaps sell it. And don't forget that the memories will be priceless! :)

All you need to do to book a back to back session.

Thanks for the help everyone! I have another question... this time about the platinum plan.... On a one night platinum plan reservation do you think they would allow you to dine at Victoria and Albert's both nights? Or is it a "once per reservation" type of thing? I dont recall seeing that on the brochure, but you never know. I was thinking about for a future trip doing the regular V&A dining room the first night and paying the difference to do chef's table the second night.

I don't see why not, since they give you 3 dining credits good for wherever you want to use them. Seems no different than eating at the same place more than once on the regular or deluxe plans. I also seem to recall reading someone's trip report where they ate there on back to back nights on the platinum.

We were thinking of dining at V&A twice while on the Platinum too. Since we have the 6pm showing of La Nouba on the second night, we probably don't have enough time to get back for the late seating!!:sad2:

Yeah, it is tempting! By that trip we will have seen La Nouba twice before so I am thinking of skipping it in favor of Victoria and Albert's x2! I wonder if I could fit V&A and a fireworks cruise on the same night...

We already booked the Wishes firework cruise. Our ADR for V&A is 5:30pm and we should have plenty of time to get ourselves to the shipyard by 9:30pm. Our IPO called us last month after our final payment and asked if we need her assistance planning anything. She didn't have to do much, honestly. We made all our dining reservations before she contacted us. Except, the Firework cruise, that must be booked by the IPO at the Concierge desk. :rolleyes1

I am so confuse.. please help

so You can stay at the Value, Moderates, or even the campground and do the Premium plan

can we book the moderates hotel and get the premium plan then call in later to upgrade to Platinum plan? Deluxe is too expensive for me!! thanks..

I want to know the same thing, I tried to book it today and was told I had to book a deluxe hotel in order to get the platinum package.

I do not think you can just upgrade the plan to Platinum without staying at a deluxe. It's best to get the fact now rather than finding out later. Have you ever consider staying at WL or AKL? They are the cheapest Deluxe on property. :thumbsup2

I think I saw someone in this thread said she booked the pop and then upgrade to platinum from premium... that why I am so confuse.

I dont think you can do that. Maybe the person you are thinking of was staying at Pop and moved to a deluxe for the one night platinum plan and then went back to pop.

I don't think there is any way around having to stay at a deluxe to do platinum. The cheapest deluxe is $240 during value season.
