Premium Plan for One Night Just for the Tours, LaNouba, etc.??

Yes, we got our room portion discounted with AAA.

I just called and was told that this was a package plan so no AAA discount applied (maybe because I booked thru Disney?)

The AAA discount isn't doing me any good. I booked the new Segway Tour on another day (not included on the premium plan) and was told that unless I book the trip thru AAA I won't have a Diamond Card so there's no discount. Oh well.

Do you have AAA membership? If so, can't you change your package via AAA? I would definitely give your local AAA office a call and ask them about re-booking your package thru them. We saved about $50 with AAA(not much but it's still good):thumbsup2

Peter Pan's Girl, that itinerary looks great! What kind of boating do you plan to do at DTD? Just asking because we will be staying at Saratoga for the Disney73 Girls Only trip, and maybe we can fit in a quick boating activity. I don't remember what kind of boats they have . . .

Your plan looks good. On the first Premium day, are you planning to use one day park hopper ticket? I see that you will be at Epcot in the morning for Segway then Wishes viewing at MK later that night. A little suggestion.
day 1(with park Hopper ticket)
8:30 to 11am Backstage Safari at AK
12:00 to 3:00pm Lunch/snacking around WS at Epcot
3:00pm Back to POP to freshen up
4:30pm Photo Session at Poly
6:00pm Dinner @ Narcoosee's
9:00pm Preferred Wishes Viewing at MK

day 2(non Park day)
8:30 to 10:30am Segway at Fort Wilderness
11:30 to 12:00pm Parasailings at Contemporary's Marina
12:45pm Lunch at DTD's Rainforest Cafe
2:30pm Boating at the DTD Marina
4:00pm Return to POP
6:20pm Dinner at Fulton's Crab House
9:00pm Cirque du Soleil

I don't know if you have thought this far but I believe if you pay for valet parking at one deluxe it is free the rest of the day so that would be especially good when you go from the Contemporary to the Poly to the GF. Worth the money in my opinion!

I thought we would do the little sea raycers or mouse boats, I believe they also have the regular boats and pontoon type boats too.

Yes, we will have park hoppers for our entire stay, we rented DVC points for the 3 nights before we start our Premium plan and have old 1-day passes we will upgrade to 5 day hoppers to use our entire stay, then we will save the mandatory 1-day passes from the premium plan for future use.

I like your suggestion due to less travel time, however we really want the Segway tour at Epcot instead of FW. For those who have parasailed and done the photo session, how much time should I allow for these activities. It is just me and DH and we will have a car (do not need to depend on Disney transportation)?

Great tip! If you pay for valet, is it good for the entire day i.e. keep car at resort while we view wishes then take monorail back to pick it up?

I did it(again):cool1: We have upgraded to "Platinum" instead of the "Premium". I just got off the phone with Juanita(Itinerary planner at AKL) We will be staying at AKL/Savannah view. She got us the Wishes Firework cruise and Dolphin in Depth Tour. Since yours truly booked everything else besides the cruise(only IPO can book this), the call was a breeze. I was a bit confused when she suggested that I should use those "Spa Treatment" all by myself because my boys won't do "these" things, So it is safe to say that I am going to be in the Spa a lot.:rotfl:

I have booked the fishing, parasailing, and personal watercraft tour. Are you supposed to tip anyone on these activities?

There's a post by another Dis'er mentioning tip for the boat crew. I think s/he gave around $20 for the boat crew after parasailing. Honestly, I think it is totally up to you. There is no right or wrong here. :goodvibes

Ok, I'm in :)

Going in Feb.

I am on the fence between Premium and Platinum. DH is not going to like having to get up super early, he is more of a sleep in kind of guy.

Here is what I have so far:

1 night @ AKL Club level
Platinum $1077
or
Premium $965
Based on a "test" reservation on the website for Value dates. Seems like very little extra $ to go to Platinum. DH would enjoy the driving experience, I would enjoy the spa treatment (can I use his too??)

$ amounts below are estimated value of the included items but they do not always reflect the AP discounts, so help there would be nice as well.

Quick breakfast from Club Lounge
Epcot Around the World Tour
$95 daily -- at 7:45, 8:30, 9 and 9:30 a.m 2 hours
Quick Lunch OOP?
Epcot Seas Aqua Tour
$140 daily 12:30pm 2.5 hours
La Nouba Show 6pm 9pm $60pp
Victoria and Alberts Vegetarian Menu- $125pp-
OR California Grill if not on Platinum. 8pm?

Quick breakfast from Club Lounge
Parasailing $?pp How much time?
Richard Petty Ride along $109 3 hours
Need a lunch idea
Backstage Safari 3 hours M, W, F 9am & 1pm $70pp
Photo Session (Plat includes Photopass CD, this is one thing I am unsure of how it works) $?
Spa, do I have time?
Flying Fish-Dinner $60pp
Fireworks Cruise $60pp since it can be shared I am counting it as less value

Could I go to the Spa while DH does Petty Driving Experience "class" and then meet him there to see his laps?? I have no idea about the logistics of trying to do that.

If I drop down to Premium it is way easier to fit things in. Help! I know there has to be a better way to do this. We can park hop if it helps, and I think I am going to rent a car.

I think you can. Another poster a few pages back mentioned to the planner that the others in her party would not be using the spa treatments and suggested she could. Probably best to call the spa directly and ask. The number is (407) 827-4455.

A good time. The 7:45 reservation would require you to drive to Epcot and park there unless it is an EMH morning day.
Quick Lunch OOP?
Since I see you're vegetarian probably Sunshine Seasons in the Land pavilion would be your best bet.
Epcot Seas Aqua Tour
$140 daily 12:30pm 2.5 hours
Looks Good
La Nouba Show 6pm 9pm $60pp
Must be a discounted price here. You get Category 2 tickets with the package which are valued at about $85 each per adult.
Victoria and Alberts Vegetarian Menu- $125pp-
OR California Grill if not on Platinum. 8pm?
Both excellent choices. If you are willing to pay the price difference OOP you can even do Chefs Table at V&A.

Quick breakfast from Club Lounge
Parasailing $?pp How much time?
Parasailing in February  ? Keep a check on the temps and do it in the warmest part of the day for this time of the year. I'd say allow about an hour, maybe more.
Richard Petty Ride along $109 3 hours
Looks good. Do you know what times during the day they do this ?
Need a lunch idea
Based on the item below maybe something in Animal Kingdom ?
Backstage Safari 3 hours M, W, F 9am & 1pm $70pp
Maybe do this first, and then tag the parasailing and/or the driving experience after this ?
Photo Session (Plat includes Photopass CD, this is one thing I am unsure of how it works) $?
No info on this - we did not take advantage of this.
Spa, do I have time?
Have him drop you off at the spa and then he drives over to the Richard Petty area. After your spa, take a taxi and meet him there. Have him let them know that you want to watch him and they will most likely work with the two of you on that.
Flying Fish-Dinner $60pp
Fireworks Cruise $60pp since it can be shared I am counting it as less value
I am assuming Illuminations cruise since I see you are dining at an Epcot resort location.

Could I go to the Spa while DH does Petty Driving Experience "class" and then meet him there to see his laps?? I have no idea about the logistics of trying to do that.
This is from the Petty website, hope it helps:
Ride-Alongs are available on a first come, first serve basis. Reservations are not required or accepted at most tracks. Ride-Alongs are normally available on days we offer driving experiences and begin one hour after the start of each driving class. Different from our standard Ride-Alongs are Race Weekend Ride-Alongs (Race Rides) which do require reservations
In addition to days that we offer driving experiences, Walt Disney World Speedway and Daytona International Speedway have exclusive Ride-Along days. At Walt Disney World Speedway in Orlando Ride-Along days operations are from 9am to 4pm on most Tuesdays and Thursdays (call 1•800•BE•PETTY for a complete listing of dates). At Daytona International Speedway Ride-Along days operations are from 9am to 4pm on the specified days; visit our Daytona information page for a complete listing or call 1•800•BE•PETTY

If I drop down to Premium it is way easier to fit things in. Help! I know there has to be a better way to do this. We can park hop if it helps, and I think I am going to rent a car.
When we were there we had our own car. I WOULD NOT try to do one of these single day premium/platinum package stays unless you had your own transportation or were willing to use taxi services as needed.
